Domestic Violence 30%

The courtroom is no place to resolve complex family issues. The vast majority of cases that are filed as "domestic violence" are really minor cases resulting from arguments that get out of hand. Kelly Ann will help you resolve your case AND help you get the tools you need to get your family back on track. Having a domestic violence conviction on your record can have devastating consequences. Our firm specializes in these cases and we win! Most or our DV cases result in a dismissal.

Child Abuse 5%

Kelly Ann has never lost a child abuse case at trial! Many times these cases involve good parents trying to do the right things for their kids, and the term "reasonable discipline" gets misconstrued. And, other times, these cases involve false allegations of abuse from medical professionals who can't find a cause for an injury to a child, so they blame the parents. Kelly Ann works closely with medical experts to show what really happened. Many cases are dismissed without even going to trial.

Kelly Ann and her firm have become experts at expungements because they include them for free with every case they take! That's because they routinely get cases dismissed, and want to get charges off their clients records as quickly as possible!

Bad attorney.

I used Kelly Ann for a non-criminal situation and she messed everything up. That’s because after she got paid then she didn’t do the research required for a successful outcome. All the information was available in public records but she never followed through or spoke to a single person or witness in...volved. She’s a lazy attorney who didn't pay attention to some important details and her office was really disorganized. Later I found out she has a bad reputation and had her law license suspended. I made a costly mistake by using her and wish I never did so. Bad attorney!

This is not a client. This person's "story" is unlike any case I have represented any client...this is some "anonymous" person with an axe to grind or is trying to gain some marketing advantage. Didn't happen. Wouldn't happen. During this time, I rarely represented any clients on non-criminal matters. The vast majority of the non-criminal matters I handled were for friends or family members, and mostly involved real estate or very specific civil issues. As happens sometimes, one disgruntled client just starts posting anonymous and fictitious reviews. I repeatedly asked AVVO for the identity or even email address of this person, and they wouldn't provide it. In fact, AVVO indicated that its review process to determine if a reviewer is a client is to simply ask them if they are clients, and if they say yes, they don't take down the review. I asked for them to require the reviewer to provide a fee agreement or engagement letter...something real to verify this person was a client. And nothing. I don't even advertise anymore, I simply get clients through word of mouth referrals because of the great job I have done for hundreds and hundreds of clients. This service advertises that they give you honest reviews by actual clients, but that is not my experience with this company, unfortunately.

Disappointed Client

After interviewing several lawyers I decided to retain Kelly Ann Booth. I was impressed by how aggressive she was--though the retainer fee was steeper than other lawyers. I liked her personality and felt she would represent me well. That faded over time as she showed up late to my initial hearing. Sh...e never contacted me or kept me apprised of what was happening. I didn't feel like she was representing me very well so I found another lawyer. It was an expensive lesson--as I lost my entire retainer and didn't really have anything to show for it. I think she could be a very capable lawyer, but I wouldn't hire her or recommend her.

Had a negative experience and fired her

Our family used Kelly for one of our members but ended up firing her. At first she talked a big game but that was it, just talk. She was only after the money. Once the contract was signed then came the bad service. She was disorganized and a poor listener. Her attitude was that she couldn’t be bother...ed answering questions. She was frequently trying to cut corners and do the least work possible. After firing Kelly she wouldn’t pay back money that she rightfully owed. To me Kelly is the worst kind of low-quality lawyer whose specialty is scamming people’s money but giving little in return. Very disappointed and I’d never use her again

Withdrew as Counsel Without any Notification. Side Stepped by Due Process and Kept My Fee of $10,000

I Hired Kelly to represent me back in 2011 to represent me, but it wasn't in only three short weeks, I was picked up on a warrant. Kelly was suspose to notify the county that I would voluntarily turn myself into the county jail for processing, put up bailbondsman and return home the same day. ... Upon being arrested, I was told by Kelly that the county's attorney was busy, and that she could not get a hold of him to set turning myself in. This wasn't so because they are never too busy to not accomodate a fugitive. While in lock up, and on the fifth day Kelly did make an appearance for me before the judge. Upon filing a writ of habeas corpus and posting bail, the judge released me. For the next 4 years, I was told time and time again that my case would eventually be dismissed and that it would never go to trial. In June of 2015, and on the eve of trial, I get a letter from the clerk of court that the judge approved her motion to withdraw as counsel. I was never notified at any time prior so you could imagine my surprise when I realized that my attorney hung me out to dry again. This time my due process rights were violated. Kelly never called or write to say she planned on withdrawing as counsel due to a personal conflict which had nothing to do with me. Instead, I found out from the clerk of court weeks later after the judge approved her motion to withdraw, and just several weeks before the trial which was already postponed 7 times by her for reasons of her own doing. During the initial court appearance Kelly was 45 minutes late as she was cited for speeding. Well, when learning of the judges order granting her the permission to withdraw, I immediately called her demanding answers. Next, I asked for my fee of $10,000 back but She refused despite having signed a contract with me that she would take my case to trial should it come to that. Her excuse, I couldn't get a hold of you. My home nor cell phone number had not changed over the four years. She could have sent me an email or written letter. That's four ways to contact me. I was and am still surprised the judge approved her motion to withdraw without first asking for my input. What court did ask for by letter was that I needed to now find an attorney, and had to furnish the name within a month's time. Kelly suggested that I hire her friend who was an experienced lawyer and that he would reach out to me in a few days, and his fee would be $2,500. Turns out he wanted $3,500. I could not make a decision until weeks later upon doing my due diligence because I did not want to find myself in the same position again while having spent my entire savings, I had to borrow the money from my parents which I'm still paying off. During the same conversation, I asked her to send me my entire case file. She refused to send me case files time and time again while sending her text messages, emails, left phone messages. To no avail she never sent the files to me. So happens the attorney she recommended was quite good as he was able to get a plea deal within a few months of negotiations with the county's attorney which she failed to do in the five years prior. Because by this time, I was already in the fifth year of this ordeal hanging over me. A silent probation if you want to call it that. Not knowing from week to week with certainty nor confidence what will happen.

Sometimes we have clients who have a hard time accepting the realities of their case, and have unrealistic expectations. We fight hard for our clients. And the vast majority of our clients are incredibly satisfied with our results. That is because we set high goals and shoot for PREMIUM results in cases, and we almost always achieve them! That was the case with this client, actually. Because of a conflict of interest that arose in the case, I had to hand the case off. I made sure the client was in very good hands with his new attorney, and even got the new attorney to greatly discount his rate to represent him throughout the rest of his case. In fact, the client's case was resolved by his new attorney on the plea agreement that I had originally proposed. The client was very happy to take the greatly reduced plea offer, and was able to avoid going to prison and avoided having to register as a sex offender. This client told me he had no problems going with the new attorney I set him up with, and said he looked up the new attorney and that he was a "badass." More than four months later, the client called me up and demanded that I give him back all the money that I had earned fighting his case for the previous four years. He threatened that if I did not give him back all his money, then he would "smear me all over the internet." What this client didn't realize is that I have represented hundreds of clients who are very pleased with our service. When they heard about what this client was saying, they took to the internet to express their experience so that potential clients can know that they are in great hands when they hire our firm. I always seek to handle any disputes that may ever arise. Unfortunately, in this case, I just refused to bend to what appeared to me to be an extortion. We stand behind our work, and we would love to represent you or your loved one.

Best lawyer!

I hired Kelly Ann to help me reduce some charges that were interfering with an immigration case I had going on at that time and she was very honest from day one and while she was working on my case there were a few complications but she went far and beyond to help me get what I needed done. She was p...ersonally coming to my work to talk to me about what happened in court every time and she made a lot of trips to my town which happens to be 4 hrs away from where she is located and never charged me travel time. I highly recommend Kelly Ann and her staff because they are very professional, answered all my questions every time and they make their clients feel like they're in great hands right away. If you're looking for help with any criminal cases you cannot go wrong with Kelly Ann. She dedicates all her time into her cases and puts 100% effort into everything to assure you that she is going to try her hardest to get what you need done! I appreciate every single thing she did for me because I had a very complicated case but she never gave up!! She was always working as hard as she could just to help me with my case and even though it took a long time due to the fact that prosecutors and judges wouldn't cooperate she still got all my stuff done and was very happy she was able to get my charges reduce and on time so I could move on with my immigration case. Again if you need any help with criminal cases you won't be disappointed when you work with Kelly Ann!!! She's the best!

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2017.

Fully Stayed Suspension and Probation issued in UT, 2017

updated on 04/10/2017

Stayed suspension/probation means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. This type of suspension means the attorney has been suspended, but that the suspension is placed on hold (and ultimately removed) if the attorney complies with certain requirements. In this case the Bar also monitors the lawyer's activities for a period of time in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
