Had a negative experience and fired her
Our family used Kelly for one of our members but ended up firing her. At first she talked a big game but that was it, just talk. She was only after the money. Once the contract was signed then came the bad service. She was disorganized and a poor listener. Her attitude was that she couldn’t be bother...

She did a bad job and then lied about it.
Kelly Ann Booth is so inept and lazy that she managed to screw up the simple task of renewing a judgment. On May 27th 2005 in Second District Court in Ogden, Utah we were awarded a $30,704 judgment against two company embezzlers. After several years we located one embezzler in Kalispell, Montana. But...

Avoid this incompetent and unethical attorney
As a former client of Kelly Ann Booth, my unfortunate experience was of her being an incompetent and dishonest attorney who consistently acted deceitfully. In March 2010 I contracted with Kelly Ann Booth to collect a significant amount of collectable money. In January 2014 I terminated our relati...
I started my solo law practice in 2009, and Tom's case was one of the first cases I ever agreed to take at my firm. It was a collection case where Tom alleged that a business associate whom he had consigned flooring, had actually sold the flooring without paying Tom. I worked the case hard in the beginning and was able to obtain default judgments against many of the alleged defendants, of which there was nearly half a dozen. Once we got the judgments, however, we could not find any assets to collect. This was obviously, and understandably upsetting to Tom. We tried and tried our best to collect, but ran into road blocks. In May of 2011, my husband suffered a brain aneurysm, and so for the next five weeks I was at the hospital 24/7. Thereafter, the recovery was very difficult. My practice suffered immensely and it took my over a year to get it back on track. As a solo attorney, I did not have the backing of a large firm or other attorneys to pick up my work. I had a very busy practice when his aneurysm struck, and I did everything I could to keep my head above water. I actually told Tom that I could not keep representing him because of the fallout from my husband's illness, and he tried to hire another attorney to do the collection, to no avail, despite the fact that there were valid judgments to collect. Tom begged me to take his case again, and I relented and agreed because I felt bad for him. During the time I was out of the office dealing with my husband's anuerysm, Tom had asked me to help him with another minor collection, in small claims court. I delegated that task, and was told by the associate I had handle it, that we were granted a default judgment. I relayed that information to Tom without verifying its accuracy for myself. I never lied to Tom or intentionally misled him, but I did not discover the error until much later. At the Bar disciplinary proceedings, I was offered the option to accept a much less sever discipline if I would name the employee who told me we had a judgment, but I instead accepted the harsher punishment because at the end of the day, it was my law firm, and the buck stops with me. I accepted full responsibility for the error, and it has been a very difficult time for me professionally as I have had to endure the public criticism of an error that happened nearly 7 years ago. Today, I am a partner in a law firm, Bautista Booth Parkinson, and I have worked hard to ensure that the errors I made when tragedy hit my family never happen again. My law partner Rudy Bautista is hands down one of the best criminal defense attorneys in the State. It is an honor to be his law partner, and we have created a law firm that has built a strong reputation for excellence. Finally, I want to make sure that people who read this review understand one thing: I NEVER CHARGED TOM A DIME TO REPRESENT HIM. I took his case on contingency, which means that I agreed that I would not get paid unless we recovered money for him. When I had my family difficulties, I even agreed to reduce my percentage significantly. Tom repeatedly offered to pay me money, and I ALWAYS declined. I honestly tried my best for him! And, because of the process AVVO has created, we do not have the ability to verify the identity of the person whom posted this review. In candor, it does not sound like the Tom I knew and worked with for years on his case. I have represented literally thousands of clients, the vast majority of whom are very satisfied with our representation. Because of these two negative reviews, we will be reaching out to past clients and inviting them to post a review so you can get accurate information about our firm. Being an attorney is tough. we help people who have been charged with a crime and had their lives uprooted. The pressure is immense. We get up everyday and fight for our clients. We don't always hit home runs. But we rarely lose, and if we go down, we go down swinging for our clients.

Withdrew as Counsel Without any Notification. Side Stepped by Due Process and Kept My Fee of $10,000
I Hired Kelly to represent me back in 2011 to represent me, but it wasn't in only three short weeks, I was picked up on a warrant. Kelly was suspose to notify the county that I would voluntarily turn myself into the county jail for processing, put up bailbondsman and return home the same day. ...
Sometimes we have clients who have a hard time accepting the realities of their case, and have unrealistic expectations. We fight hard for our clients. And the vast majority of our clients are incredibly satisfied with our results. That is because we set high goals and shoot for PREMIUM results in cases, and we almost always achieve them! That was the case with this client, actually. Because of a conflict of interest that arose in the case, I had to hand the case off. I made sure the client was in very good hands with his new attorney, and even got the new attorney to greatly discount his rate to represent him throughout the rest of his case. In fact, the client's case was resolved by his new attorney on the plea agreement that I had originally proposed. The client was very happy to take the greatly reduced plea offer, and was able to avoid going to prison and avoided having to register as a sex offender. This client told me he had no problems going with the new attorney I set him up with, and said he looked up the new attorney and that he was a "badass." More than four months later, the client called me up and demanded that I give him back all the money that I had earned fighting his case for the previous four years. He threatened that if I did not give him back all his money, then he would "smear me all over the internet." What this client didn't realize is that I have represented hundreds of clients who are very pleased with our service. When they heard about what this client was saying, they took to the internet to express their experience so that potential clients can know that they are in great hands when they hire our firm. I always seek to handle any disputes that may ever arise. Unfortunately, in this case, I just refused to bend to what appeared to me to be an extortion. We stand behind our work, and we would love to represent you or your loved one.

Best lawyer!
I hired Kelly Ann to help me reduce some charges that were interfering with an immigration case I had going on at that time and she was very honest from day one and while she was working on my case there were a few complications but she went far and beyond to help me get what I needed done. She was p...

Fully Stayed Suspension and Probation issued in UT, 2017
updated on 04/10/2017Stayed suspension/probation means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. This type of suspension means the attorney has been suspended, but that the suspension is placed on hold (and ultimately removed) if the attorney complies with certain requirements. In this case the Bar also monitors the lawyer's activities for a period of time in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
