Recently I had my first ever criminal charge levied against me...four misdemeanors associated with domestic violence. I was largely ignorant of the realities of the criminal justice process and what, in general, lay in store for me. All I knew for certain was that I didn't seem to have anyone... helping me, my set-in-stone rights seemed to be subjective and negotiable, and most of what I'd seen on TV was complete BS. It was an extremely scary time in my life. I started researching and interviewed multiple attorneys to assist my cause. When I would ask questions throughout the process he would immediately provide answers and site specific precedence from specific cases by name. No go-backs to look it up...he just knew it cold. My case ended up not even going to trial because he was able to get me a full dismissal of all charges to include a sealing of all records. Every case will be different, but for me...it's like it never even happened. I can't say enough good things about Josh and his team at McDowell Law Firm. He helped me in one of the most difficult times of my entire life. The criminal justice system is complicated and intimidating and, I felt, oddly disrespecting of my rights. Josh turned those tables and was my knowledgeable advocate and ally throughout the process and at the end of the day got me exactly what I was hoping for.
