I contacted Troy Krenning after repeated failed attempts to settle a wrongful debt collection in regards to an ambulance bill that was paid. I was bullied and harassed by the debt collection agency, despite being more than willing to work with them and the ambulance company. They filed suit against... me and refused to back down. I attempted to navigate the legal system myself and was completely lost. Finally, I called Gookin, Krenning, & Associates LLC. and Troy Krenning called me within a couple of hours. I met with Troy and was pleasantly surprised at how he put me at ease right away. I finally felt that I had someone on my side and what a relief that was! He is efficient, knowledgeable and truly cared that my rights were being violated. Not only did the suit against me get dismissed, but I received a $1000 settlement for violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection laws. All of this took about 2 weeks. My only regret is that I did not contact him from the beginning!

For too long, debt collection agencies have used and abused the legal system in Colorado as just another way to force consumers to be bullied into providing windfall profits to companies that purchase written-off debt for pennies on the dollar. Knowing that more than 9 out of 10 lawsuits brought... by these junk debt buyers result in default judgments, they file suit with no or improper evidence, playing the odds that even a consumer challenging their suit will back down and settle rather than stick through to a trial, and they still end up with a tidy profit for little effort. I never intended to have financial problems, but I also have been unwilling to be taken advantage of when debt purchasers have tried to make me feel guilty when they demand to use me as their piggy bank. After doing my own research and filing my own responses in a couple of cases, it was an incredible relief to find Troy Krenning. This man clearly has gone to great lengths to understand and advocate for consumers and knows how to clarify the rules of law upon which our legal system is based. I had spoken to another attorney about my debt collection issues, but he seemed unclear of why my own research showing the plaintiff couldn't prove his case and suggested I should negotiate a settlement instead (if I could). I'd done far more reading on the matter and ended up trying to do my own work on the case, but got nervous as a trial date was coming up. In my first case since discovering Mr. Krenning, he took over my response and counter-claim mid-stream, became the counsel of record in my case, educated the opposing attorney about the law and violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and turned their nearly $5,000 suit into a dismissal with prejudice within a few weeks. AND he’s been a pleasant guy to work with as well! From my research he is one of only a few Consumer Advocate attorneys in the state that truly understands how consumers are being taken advantage of and I’ll be quick to point out to potential clients that they’ll likely be awarded payment of attorney’s fees after Troy wins the case for them. It would be improper for me to discuss my own fee arrangement, but I’ll just assure you it’s likely worth your time to talk to him. The time to be a victim of the system stops here. He’s also preparing to take on a second case for me in which the junk debt buyer has “supported” their claim with “documentation” from another company with which I’ve had no business relationship. I have no doubt of the outcome and I actually look forward to working on it with him. Don’t worry about his office being located in Loveland and away from the metro area. He’s located nearly 100 miles from me and we’ve done all of our work together via phone and email. I was a little nervous about that at first, but no longer. I can’t write a more positive review!
