I did a lot of research a few years ago because I knew I was going to get divorced and that I would have a difficult one to deal with. I started meeting with Samera at least two years before we actually started working together. I'm confident I hired the right team. Samera actually looked at some of the details of my case before our consultation was complete; I have not encountered this often when speaking to other lawyers. I needed advice regarding a custody issue and Samera was honest and knew enough to give me good advice. Let me begin by saying that divorce can be one of the most painful experiences, with extreme highs and lows, that I would never wish upon anyone. Some even describe divorce similar to a death, where the one you invested everything in, is now out of your life. That being said, the reality is that m...ore than 50% of married couples will experience divorce. I am no exception, and have succumbed to one of those statistics. It was now time to face the music, and seek out an attorney that specializes in family law, and divorce, preferably in the county I reside, where I believe would be more familiar with the court system and judges, thus, being more advantageous. I first set up a meeting with an attorney whose law firm was rather close in proximity, to the court house, that will be presiding over my case. I disclosed the facts of my case to this attorney, who had extensive experience, and appeared quite knowledgeable in how to proceed. I told this attorney that I wanted to think about our meeting and discussions a little longer, before making a decision. I left the firm's parking lot, with a sense of uncertainty, and a gut-feeling that I didn't feel confident that this was the attorney for me. That same day, I called the law firm, Robinson and Henry, P.C., who set me up with an appointment with their specialist in Family Law, and Divorce, Samera Habib, ( Samera is currently with SH Law Solutions, P.C.). Prior to meeting her, I was a little skeptical, as my previous experience, left me with a feeling of uncertainty and anxiety. Upon our first meeting and conversation, I quickly noted Ms. Habib's focus and determination, asking the right questions and overwhelmingly, assuring me, what our course of action should be, and when to move forward. She never wavered as she was bombarded with a series of questions, that I wanted to be answered immediately. At that point I knew I didn't need to look any further, as she was the one for me. I called her the next day and told her that I wanted her to represent me. The process of my divorce was emotional, lengthy, and exhausting, lasting just over a year. My circumstances included my children, and a job, that on more than one occasion was in jeopardy, because of false and unfounded allegations. There were times, at my lowest point, that I felt completely helpless and vulnerable. However, Ms. Habib was always there to talk a little common sense, putting things in perspective, and setting my mind at ease. She had a way of staying true to the course, dotting all of the i's, and crossing all the t's, making sure that everything was in place, to offer the best possible outcome for me. I am happy to say that I received my final decree just a little over a week ago. Ms. Habib fought for me, and the things that mattered most in my life, especially my children. She was also able to put in place a favorable Separation Agreement, and Parenting Plan, that will allow me to focus ion my children, my job, and my financial and living arrangement. Ms. Habib also has given me the opportunity to move on with my life, beginning anew, and putting certain things behind me.
