Michael Trent Trani

I recently received a DUI and decided to ask Trent for representation because I’ve only heard the most positive things of him and his firm. He’s kept me fully informed on everything going on and doesn’t sugar coat anything. Anytime I’ve had any concern or question he’s quick to respond with no b.s. a...nd is straight to the point. Couldn’t be more grateful with my decision to ask him to represent me as I would do again as needed. I fully recommend anyone who has been in a similar situation to give him a call as you will not regret your decision doing so.

Mr. Trani blew the prosecutor out of the water at trial. He was prepared for every legal issue that could have been brought up against me, as well as all of the evidence that the prosecutor thought that he had to try and convict me. It wasn't even close. I was found Not Guilty by the jury after a 4... day trial. I was falsely accused of vehicular assault, DUI, and leaving the scene of an accident a couple of year ago and hired Mr. Trani to represent me. I was facing possible prison time because two of these charges were felonies. Mr. Trani had an investigator talk to witnesses and looked at every angle of the prosecutor's case against me. He worked my case for over six months before it went to trial. I can't tell you how happy that I am that I found Mr. Trani to represent me. If you are charged with any type of criminal charge, I strongly recommend that you reach out to Mr. Trani and his firm.

I contacted Mr. Trani to represent my daughter who had been charged with her third DUI. I can't imagine another attorney being as caring of a client than he was with my daughter. He was absolutely wonderful. I wish that I had done it sooner, but I didn't hire Mr. Trani until after my daughter ha...d lost her trial using a public defender. She hadn't been drinking, but had been using prescription medications on the night that she was pulled over. Unfortunately, she has been addicted to pain medications for several years and had a habit of abusing those medications. She was looking at spending a full year in the Arapahoe County Jail because she just couldn't get off of these medications while her case was pending and had violated the court's orders to submit clean UA's multiple times. The judge was very angry at her by the end of the trial. As soon as I got Mr. Trani involved, he developed a strategy that we hoped would minimize the jail time. His strategy included getting my daughter the help that she needed. This is something that we desperately wanted and she needed, but it was not something that we really expected when we contacted Mr. Trani. He told us that it is his belief that his job is to not only help a client with their legal matter, but to also help them with any underlying problems that may have led the client to the problem in the first place. He directed her to a treatment program that he has had clients use before. He talked to her many time, at length, encouraged her, and convinced her that she could get help and improve her life. Mr. Trani delayed the sentencing for several months so that she could get through the treatment. He was very direct and honest about the fact that there were no guarantees that her success in this treatment would help her cause at sentencing. She did great. Mr. Trani encouraged her the entire time. He would check in with her every couple of weeks or so. Again, absolutely wonderful. By the time that sentencing happened, about 4 months later, my daughter was a changed person. The judge recognized it and listened to Mr. Trani tell him about her hard work in treatment. The judge clearly knew Mr. Trani and we heard that they had worked on cases when the judge was a prosecutor. He obviously respected Mr. Trani's words and believed what he was saying about my daughter. The judge ended up giving my daughter only the mandatory minimum sentence of 60 days in jail. We believe and know that Mr. Trani saved my daughter from spending an additional 10 months in jail, but even more importantly, maybe even her life. I strongly and without hesitation recommend that you hire Mr. Trani if you or a person that you care about is charged with a DUI or other criminal charge. He is the best in our opinion.

My biggest struggle in writing this review is not in knowing what to say; it is in Avvo not giving me enough characters to say it. When you find yourself on the wrong side of the law, regardless of circumstance, the wheels of "justice" turn quickly and mercilessly against you. It does not matter t...he type of person you are or the life you've tried to live, and the presumption of innocence serves as nothing more than a slogan. Being charged with a major felony, it is hard to describe the feelings early on; they vacillate between anger, panic, depression, and disbelief. In that state of mind, you're susceptible to being easily fooled or beguiled by a fast-talking charming attorney who will promise you the world and deliver ashes, leaving you broke, hopeless, and betrayed again. Not one, two, but three attorneys later one is left to wonder if a decent, honest, aggressive, yet compassionate attorney exist. Are you chasing a unicorn? That rare combination of skill and empathy from a person who overnight became the steward of your life? The answer is no. If those are the qualities, you are looking for, and you are reading this review, 1. I feel for your predicament, whatever it might be, and 2. stop reading and call Trent Trani. You'll be thankful you did. Attorneys are salesmen, business owners, who must sell clients to stay in business and promote their service; their service happens to be law. This, unfortunately, leads to very unsavory business practices and unlike most sales, you can't return the product after a verdict, buy at your own risk, and all sales are final! Trent was easy to talk to, listened to concerns, responded to long emails sent at all hours of the night cursing the system and asking the same questions 1000 times. He never lost his patience, he never got irritated, and he never made you feel like an imbecile for asking a question. Trent is very unassuming and is never too busy to give his legal expertise or lend an ear. Almost too nice, that is until he walks in a courtroom, and then this compassionate, gentle attorney becomes a trial assassin dismantling states evidence and witnesses in such a manner the prosecutor is left scrambling to repair the damage he's caused their case. They can't, the jury has seen it, the damage is done, the case is over. Like a professional fighter getting ready for a fight, Trent spends weeks reviewing cases and his meticulous preparation, knowledge of the facts, sets the stage for the movie style aggressive defense us layman are used to seeing on TV. Trent will deconstruct your file piece by piece and reconstruct it until he knows the case better than anyone else, what other attorneys have missed (like I mentioned 3 of them) Trent found in a matter of weeks. When he reconstructs the case like a giant puzzle, he goes into court ready for war, and he is the nuclear bomb the prosecution hates to face. He is a boss in the courtroom controlling the witnesses, the case, the DA, and even the judge at times. When you are the defendant it is precisely what you hoped it would be, and after you hear those words of not guilty from a jury, it was all worth it, and your only regret is that you did not find Trent sooner. It doesn't matter what you have been charged with, DUI, Robbery, Murder, Sex Crime, when you are the victim of an overzealous prosecutor and a lazy detective you need a shield to protect you and a sword to fight back. I say you've found it if you are unlucky enough to be in that situation but lucky enough be reading this review. A poor man can't afford anything but the best, because he can't afford it twice, and in Trent, you found the best. Keep giving them hell Trent, and thank you from the bottom of my heart! You, sir, are a legal giant and the reason faith in justice has been restored in my heart.
