Get a better lawyer. You will be glad you did.

Matt is rushed, short, uncaring, and challenging to communicate with. His hurried work style caused me to lose thousands more dollars unnecessarily, and I have many more complaints about how he handled my case that I will not go into. Do yourself a favor and get a better lawyer.

I am sorry to hear about your impressions of our services. Our firm maintains open lines of communication with our clients. Clients can email me or call the office during normal business hours and schedule a phone appointment to speak with me. An appointment insures we don't play phone tag and sets time aside for that person and call. We have no problem receiving constructive advice from our clients. My hope is you would feel comfortable enough to contact us directly if there were issues in the way your case was handled. Since this review is posted anonymously and to date, no one has reached out directly with any such complaint, I have no context for how we might improve the situation or evaluate whether this is a real review.

Not helpful

I had an employment related issue. This attorney was not helpful at all. He basically disregarded my entire concern and said “don’t worry about it.” This gave me the impression of not really seeing things from my side, something I think is a critical soft skill for any attorney. If he expressed more ...empathy and saw things from my perspective, I would be able to recommend him. However, I was disappointed with my interaction with him and currently can not.

Credit Reporting on a Six Year on Bill

Provided a response to let me know that regardless of the bill being six years old that a Bill Collector could place it on your credit report even if the Statue of Limitations has expired.

Excellent advice and Quick Response

We had a very serious education law question. Mr. Berkus counseled us not once, but twice, with candid and on-point information that specifically addressed our unique situation. Furthermore, the speed of his input astounded us, as well as his lengthy and thorough explanation of what for us was a very... scary and complicated matter. We highly recommend Mr. Berkus. He has restored our faith in the legal profession. There are still hero lawyers in this world!
