Compassionate and Intelligent Legal Team

I am a young mom with two kiddos. Neil has helped me through a complex divorce case. It is clear his #1 priority is the children involved in these cases; which was crucial for me in a divorce attorney. Most of my close family calls Neil “a bulldog” because that is what he is. He fights for me wh...en I need it most. I am so grateful I was recommended him. I have trusted his guidance, and I can assure you (especially the momma’s out there!), Neil has your back.

My lawyer for 10 years and lawyer to two of my friends

Neil was my lawyer from 2009-2019 and has served as lawyer to two of my friends since then, and if I ever need a family lawyer again, he'll be my lawyer again. I am one of the small number of single dads with custody of a child, and Neil's advocacy over the years for my daughter and me has made a big... impact on both of our lives. His extensive experience in courtrooms, mediations, and direct negotiations, and knowledge of nuances of how to position me for getting the best outcome possible for my child and I was crucial to me being able to provide a stable situation for my child after years of instability while her mom had custody and when we had split custody. I first hired Neil in 2009 when my daughter's mother and I were breaking up right as our daughter turned one. While we did not get the result we were hoping for when we went to trial that fall, I found myself needing to call on his services numerous times in the following years as my daughter's mother continued to put our daughter in bad situations and finally, in 2019, we were able to negotiate in mediation our current agreement, which resulted in me having custody of our daughter. Over that 10-year period, we had numerous mediations and court appearances, and his knowledge of the history of the situation was invaluable to his ability to properly advocate for me. Our current agreement has remained in place for 3 years - the longest period of time ever since her mom and I broke up - and I am convinced that it will stick. His ability to counsel me on what was and was not possible (or likely) in court was always important to me understanding what I was getting myself into. He was good about managing my expectations, which is important in this type of situation. Since my last case with him in 2019, I have referred him to two of my friends. One friend was another father who was committed to being involved with his daughter and just wanted joint custody (like I did), but who was having to deal with a former partner who wanted to unilaterally move their daughter away and simply assert custody. I knew him and I knew that he didn't need to accept that outcome, so I told him to call Neil. Neil was able to help him negotiate a joint custody agreement that resulted in my friend's home being the basis of his daughter's school, which was especially important to him. My other friend is a single mother who has been dealing with an ex-husband who put them both in a bad financial situation and who forged her name on a divorce decree that deviated significantly from the direction the judge had given them. I told her about the work Neil had done for me over the years and now he is helping her get it all straightened out. Neil's experience working with a very wide variety of clients and circumstances, combined with his abilities to both find creative solutions in a mediation and be a fierce advocate for you in front of a judge gave him a unique ability to help my daughter and I out in our difficult situation. I consider Neil a friend and an important part of my life after all we've been through.

Great experience. Highly recommend.

Getting divorced is such a challenging process emotionally, financially and mentally. There were moments where I was confused and uncertain, and i decided to trust Neil's experience. He clearly communicated the why's behind his recommendations with easy to understand anecdotes, which proved invaluabl...e. Now that the dust is settling and I'm experiencing the results of those decisions, I'm so grateful for where I've landed and the decisions I was advised to make through the process.

Highly recommended.

Neil and his staff did a great job with my divorce including helping me settle my case in mediation and finalizing the divorce in a very timely manner. Throughout the process Neil helped me focus on what was most important which is what is best for my two young sons. His knowledge and experience we...re great assets during the process and I very much appreciate his guidance and support.

Divorce, Child Custody/Support, Property Division

Neil and his office team were extremely professional, helpful, and guided me through the entire process. I had tons of questions, concerns, fears, and a basic understanding of what divorce is like from my childhood but Neil broke through my expectations in a positive way and helped me understand what... to fight for and what was fair given my own situation. When it came to custody, Neil reworked my mediation session in a more well thought out way, I wish I had started mediation first with Neil, but in the end, he got it all together and I feel I did the best I could do for my child given the circumstances.

"I have known Neil since the late 90's when we were both associates at a large law firm. Later we met again after we had both hung out our own shingles and by chance had office space across the hall from each other. So I have gotten to know Neil pretty well and have valued his insight on the workings of the court. He is my first choice when referring clients to a family law lawyer. He is a zealous advocate and does family law because he likes it and is good at it, and sees it as a valuable and necessary service. He has done other kinds of law in the past and would be successful doing other kinds of law, but this is his calling. He really believes in helping people through this difficult process and has the unique skill set for it. And he's a straight shooter. Tells it like it is."
