great attorney, great law firm!!

We retained Joe Newberry a few years ago in getting my husbands child support reviewed when our daughter was born. He dealt with my husbands extremely irrational ex with ease and made sure that my husband came out ahead. This was almost three years ago... Joe suggested then that my husband try to obt...ain custody of his son due to the mothers irrational and radical behavior at the modification... and my husband told him he would be calling him when we were in a better financial position to fight for custody. In April of this year (2012) we hired Joe Newberry again; this time to obtain custody of my step son. We had a very difficult, time consuming and detailed case that involved private investigators, attorneys, witnesses, old roommates, drug addicts, obtaining a difficult drug test and not to mention from hundreds of miles away. Joe took on our case, and dealt with all of the legalities, all of our people, private investigators, witnesses, schools, all of it.. Joe and the staff of Leecraft (especially Shannon and Judy) are absolutely fantastic, got us an emergency restraining order to remove the child from the mothers home due to a positive drug test for meth; got us custody of our son in temporary orders and yet again got us everything we wanted for our final hearing and permenant orders... We couldn't be happier with the results, the law office of Leecraft and Newberry saved my step sons life, and has given him back his childhood and we are eternally grateful for all their hard work. As for other reviews, good attorneys are expensive... you're best off getting it done right the first time, and we did with Joe. If we EVER have another legal issue with family law I can assure you we will be using Joe, Judy and Shannon again. On another note, they care so much for their clients.. I always felt at home, and I will miss all of my conversations with them. :)

Very bad Lawyer

1- Absolute money sucker. 2- goes to court room without studying the case. 3- depends on his Mother who runs the office. 4- his office changed minimum 2 layers , 2 legal assistants in less than 6 months. 5- never response on time. 6- never read the email content completely. its just like you ask... him right and he answers left and so on. if you have a divorce case that involves kids issue, then this is ABSOLUTLY not the right lawyer to hire.

Excellent customer service

My wife and I were in need of a lawyer to handle a personal property/contract dispute, and we were given Joe's name by a friend. While our legal issue was minuscule compared to the family law matters that Joe usually addresses, I felt as though Joe cared about and put a good deal of effort into our ...case, evidenced by his willingness to research our grounds for litigation and promptly proceed with completing the necessary paperwork and filing claims. It was quite easy to reach Joe by email and phone in resolving our case and I felt as though Joe truly cared about our legal matter . Joe's excellent customer service and willingness to investigate matters in order to provide sound legal advice will be a tremendous asset to his firm. My wife and I were so pleased with the service we received that we plan on using Joe in the future for drafting our wills, power of attorneys, and other estate planning documents.

A rare find...

Joe has an enormous amount of integrity, which is vividly apparent in his commitment to his clients. He pours himself into his work, yet anyone would walk away feeling like they know him on a personal level, which illustrates his balance of family and work. I've entrusted him with the task of handlin...g my divorce and child support arrangements and I genuinely believe that he is dedicated to helping on more than a professional level. I highly recommend him!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
