Clifford Alan Swayze

I was arrested for a DUI and was referred to Cliff by a friend of my brothers who was close to Cliff and vouched for his character. Before I ever hired Cliff, I got to speak with him for over an hour on a Sunday, as he took the time to answer my questions and set realistic expectations. This may be... one of the biggest differences between lawyers: there are those who tell you what really happens and don't get your hopes up that your case will easily be dismissed, and those that do. I had done enough reading to know that pressures from groups like MADD were making it very hard for prosecutors to dismiss cases, it reflects poorly on them so they try and stick you with whatever charge they can. Cliff, as mentioned in another review, was a straight shooter with me and let me know what I was going to be dealing with and that it likely wouldn't be a fast process. Based on that call, I went with my gut and hired Cliff and I have to say that I made the right choice. I was always kept aware of updates, he was on time to any meeting or court appearance we had, and more importantly, I felt like I was talking to an every day guy, not a slimy lawyer. In other words, he makes you comfortable. Also, I always appreciated how available he was. If I called and had a question and he was in a meeting, I'd always get a call back after or after he left work, he had no issues using his own personal time to answer questions. In the end, I feel very fortunate that my case was conditionally dismissed, which means I'll do some community service and can't get in trouble for a certain length of time and it will be removed from my record. Is this to say your case will be dismissed? Obviously not, but I can vouch for Cliff, you'll be giving your business to someone who will work to earn it instead of a lawyer who acts like they're doing you a favor.

I met Cliff over two years ago, possibly on the worst week of my life.  I was facing some major charges and was not really sure what was goin on. Cliff never tried to fill me with unrealistic expectations, he always "shot me straigh" and for that i have great respect for him. I have never been in a s...ituation like this that I found myself in, but after the first meeting with Cliff I was confident that he was the man I wanted to represent me. I am glad to say the out come of my case was better than I could have expected and I'm sure that there is no way any other attorney in town could have goten the same results. I will, and do highly recommend Cliff to anyone in need of leagal services. He is my attorney and I now conceder him my hero!

Excellent work. I had two misdemeanors, one was dropped outright and for the other I received minimal community service with no criminal record. I could not have asked for a better result. Furthermore, Cliff was extremely accessible and kept me well aware of how things were going with my case through...out the entire process.

Cliff Swayze is by far one of the hardest working lawyers in Austin. I initially called one of the big law firms in town, and I immediately got the feeling that I was just a number to them; plus, they were going to charge me a fortune. Cliff, on the other hand, is incredibly reasonable with his price...s and gives each case the attention it deserves. Cliff did so much work on my case (and gathered so much evidence to prove my innocence) that by the time we got to court the prosecution realized they had no case, and dismissed the charges.
