Best Lawyer in Town

My husband and I hired Susan Ashley the day before sentencing Jan. 2016, to 5 years TDCJ. We met with her prepared, and also interviewed from Susan about previous offenses. Being a registered Sex Offender, she made it very clear that the previous offense could slim the chance of being granted parole ...the first review, but will put forth the effort to get an approval first time around. Susan and I discussed about what paperwork she needed to make the inmate packet and had that done months before hearing. July 2016, 6 months in, parole interviews my husband. August 2016, Susan gives me a call to ask if I wanted to go to the parole hearing in person, as the parole region allowed, or conference call at her office. We then drove to Palestine Texas a 2 hour drive and she prepared me for what was going to be discussed and said, important key notes to point out and not to point out. At the parole hearing Susan did all the talking, representing her client, my husband, with perfect knowledge of his case on file and case from previous offense. Literally there were no questions asked by the lead voter, no comments, honestly was a short quiet meeting, but all facts were covered and Susan did everything she could to represent her client as a valued individual. Exactly 1 week and 1 day later parole was approved and granted to my husband as a FI-4R (11/2016). He has to complete a class before being released on parole in December 2016. Everything was done in perfect timing. Without a doubt I will always recommend Susan Ashley to anyone in need of a parole lawyer she was very successful in our hearing, Susan has really taken the time to study and make sure she understands everything that is going on in the case. Our hearing was a success and I'm very impressed about the outcome on our first review.

Parole? Hire Susan Ashley

I hired Ms. Ashley for my husband's parole. He had his second felony DWI making his situation more difficult. Ms. Ashley took time to explain the process to me. She always returned calls or emails to answer questions and would call me to let me know what was next. My husband did not make his firs...t parole which was expected, Ms. Ashley made arrangements for me to talk with the first voter the next time around. She met with me two weeks prior to going to the parole board office so that I would know what to expect and feel comfortable. She did the work to know the case well plus know my husband's history and the second time was a success. I do recommend Ms. Ashley if you need a criminal attorney.

Excellent Parole Lawyer!!!

I won't lie, when I was looking for a parole attorney for my husband's case when he was sent to TDCJ, I wasn't sure where to look. A simple Google search led me to Susan's website and I hired her straight away. Later that same week, I met with her and discussed his case and she went to see him before... he was moved from county. She stayed in constant contact with me regarding his case and helped me to figure out exactly what we needed to do to get the best outcome. I'm very pleased to say that she didn't disappoint. She worked tirelessly on his case and as of this morning, my husband was granted parole on his first review. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing lawyer who does exactly what she says she will. She doesn't sugar coat anything and will tell you exactly how things go. She's very knowledgeable about how the system works and was able to answer any and all of my ridiculous questions thoughout the entire time we worked together. I probably sound cliché but I'd give her more stars if I could.

Criminal Defense Case

The search began a little less than a year before my husbands scheduled parole date of March 23, 2016. My husband was charged with an aggravated robbery, and during his time of incarceration he obtained an additional charge, which he received time "stacked" on to the current sentence he was serving. ...I had no clue where to even begin to look for an attorney, all I knew was that we needed a miracle with what we were up against, and what my husband had created for himself. I went into this experience clueless, and hopeless. I thought that if i was going to "waste" any money on an attorney for my husband I was going to be extremely picky. The reason I considered it a waste at the time was because there was no possible way he was going to make parole with two charges, one being an Agg robbery, and the second being obtain during his time incarcerated. who would want to approve such a thing? but little did I know. So, I went to Google, and searched, 'Best parole attorney's in Texas' sounds silly I know. The first two to stand out were an attorney from Dallas, TX (I don't remember the name), and attorney Susan Ashley. All i knew to look for was the opinions/reviews of former clients. If I found one negative review I was not going to consider hiring them. I chose Attorney Susan Ashley, because although I didn't find many reviews I didn't find ANY negative reviews. "Yup she's the one!" I called her, and there was something about the way that she explained the entire process to me that made me feel confident in her ability to take on my husbands case. She very clearly, and patiently delineated the parole process to me, and what her purpose was as a parole attorney was if we chose to hire her. Some time went by and I made the decision to hire her without considering any other attorney's. If I had any questions regarding the parole process she explained them to me. When the time came to put together my husband parole packet, she explained everything that needed to be included, and when she needed it by. She was always on top of everything, without us having to ask or be left wondering. She walked through it with us. The parole date was approaching, and Ms. Ashley advised both me and my husband to be realistic. She visited with my husband after being interviewed by IPO, and got to know him. My husband was really confident in her representing him in the weeks to come. Coming up against an agg robbery charge, and an additional charge while he was incarcerated, our chances were slim to, none. Ms. Ashley called me after representing my husband to inform me of how it went. She felt good about it, but she advised me to be realistic. We expected to be set off and come back next year. One week after speaking to Ms. Ashley I checked the TDCJ website to see if any update was made regarding parole. I was essentially looking for a set off date. That is not what I found. Ms. Ashley achieved what we thought was impossible. She far exceeded our expectations, and because of her magnificent work my husband was approved for his FIRST parole, on an aggravated robbery charge, and having obtained an additional charge while incarcerated. Who does that?!! How does that happen?!! My family and I are very grateful to have found an attorney like Susan Ashley. She worked very diligently with us, and kept us grounded throughout this very important time of our lives. I am writing this review in hopes that it will stand out to anyone who was in the same position that I was in a year ago. I do not believe there is any one attorney like her. I have extremely high, and positive regards for Ms. Ashley. She is absolutely perfect!

"I strongly endorse Attorney Susan Ashley. I am familiar with the outstanding work that she has done over the thirty years that I have known her. I have referred her cases and I have handled cases with her. I personally watched Ms. Ashley pick a jury and try an intoxicated manslaughter case to a jury and get probation from a jury on the case. I also watched Ms. Ashley handle a parole revocation hearing and get a finding of no probable cause. She has skillfully handled some large drug cases that I referred to her. When I refer Susan Ashley a case I know that she will do a great job and that the client will really be very pleased with her representation."
