Steve Shellist is an amazing attorney and I highly recommend him to anyone needed help. In January 2014, my 18 year old daughter was charged with class II felony, burglary of a habitat. She had been out with some friends one night and were fishing nearby in the bay. They were fishing near a house tha...t appeared to be vacant. It had windows broken, the door was broken, and had no lights, etc... She allowed her friends to influence her to enter the house to look around. It turned out that the house was not lived in, but was used by its owner as a "fishing" house on occasion. All of the kids were charged with burglary of a habitat and now faced a felony charge that would forever follow them around for the rest of their lives. A class II felony is punishable with up to 20 years in prison! My wife and I were so stressed and afraid for our daughter, so I began interviewing attorneys to find someone that would put in the hard work and truly have our daughter's best interest at heart. Every attorney that I interviewed gave me the same "song and dance" regarding their approach to the case and what outcome they would target. What made Steve stand out was that he was also a family man, and when I talked to him about my daughter, he began talking to me about his kids and what he would do for them, and he stressed that he would do the same for my daughter. I knew that he was the attorney for us and that he had her best interest at heart. We were not disappointed. After 10 months he was able to get her charge reduced to a misdemeanor. This was amazing considering the evidence that they had on our daughter. Furthermore, the other kids all received felony probation. Our daughter was the only one that got a reduced sentence! She is now continuing her college education and she will be able to gain employment that will hopefully allow her to one day properly support herself and she can start her own family. Steve was always available to answer my emails and phone calls, and he always kept us updated on the status of her case. Our family will forever be grateful for what he did for our daughter.

Steve Shellist is a true blessing from God. My 21 year old son made a bold decision to join the U. S . Navy with his mind focused on becoming a Navy SEAL. He had three months before he was to head to Boot Camp and he attended a party on his behalf, drank alittle too much, drove and got a DWI. My s...on did not hit or hurt anyone, but he weeved all over the road with some one following him on the phone with the police giving a blow by blow. I had retained a young attorney who seemed to have knowledge, but really didn't. I spoke to a lady that happened to have a son that got into trouble and she mentioned that she had a great lawyer who could find a way where there was no way to get a dismissal. I spoke to Steve and came in with my son and he gave an hour or more of his time looking at the film and giving us assurance that there was a way to defend this and get him into the Navy. Immediately Steve spoke too the Judge and skillfully convensed her to allow Daniel to attend Boot Camp. Daniel proformed out standingly in his courses and against insermountable odds Steve diligently worked and found a way where there was no way to work with the DA to get Daniel's case dismissed. I will not go to any other lawyer if I have a reason in the future. His demeanor and creativity around the courts are a gift from the Lord and I will send anyone that needs a GREAT lawyer. His purpose is not here to get the guilty off, but he can help those who have made a mistake to have a second chance. He is our friend.

I have not had the need to hire an attorney before, but I am glad that when I did require the legal help from an attorney Steve was recommended to me by a few friends. From the first meeting I had with Steve everything was out on the table, possibilities and scenarios from the outcome of the case, t...o ways we will approach the situation.
