Case dismissed

I was charged with retaliation (threatening to kill a police officer). I was acting stupid and of course I didn’t mean any of that. Pretty sure the police knew it but they don’t take kindly to perceived threats. Wood had the case thrown out in less than ten minutes. Better call Wood!

Excellent Attorney

My brother was arrested and charged with DWI for just doing the RIGHT thing and sleeping one off. TOMBALL PD arrested him and charged him... he was NOT "driving" while intoxicated and the officers knew or should have known that. The officers assumed that just because he was asleep that he had to ...have been driving earlier so they arrested him! Attorney Harris Wood requested a speedy examining trial to reveal the lack of evidence against him and even though the chicken DAs ran to the "Grand Jury" and got it indicted they would not go to trial so they dismissed it. Attorney Wood got the case dismissed by not backing down. THANK YOU MR. WOOD!!!!

DWI

I was arrested and charged with DWI. I was NOT intoxicated and even though I did end up in an accident with some car at a traffic light it was unavoidable and NOT because I was “intoxicated” because I was NOT. The officers LIED and my lawyer (Attorney Harris Wood) took over the case from another lawy...er, and within a few court appearances stood in open court and told the Judge and DAs exactly why and how he was going to win my case at trial if they chose to try their luck instead of doing the right thing and DISMISS it. They Judge gave him a quick trial date and the DAs did the only sensible thing they could do, which was DISMISS THE CASE. THANK YOU MR. WOOD!!!!

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"Harris and I defended a mutual client together against a serious criminal accusation. Harris was appointed to the client after I had obtained a mistrial for the client and was removed without cause. The client wanted to keep me on the case, so I had to appeal my removal all the way to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals to get reinstated. After being reinstated, I managed to get a dismissal for the client, but only after Harris's hard work! During Harris's representation of the client, he immediately ordered the trial transcript and diligently acted in the client's defense. Harris also assisted the the client and I in getting me reinstated as his attorney. I have found that Harris's clients have no problem trusting in his ability and trusting in the basic fact that he really does care. I would trust Harris to defend my own family."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?

  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
