My son has been in downtown jail for over a year, ever since he has been locked up, our lives had never been the same. He has never been in trouble, never even had a driving violation. Hard-working young man. He started mixing with hostile and toxic people that were up to nothing good. It only got hi...m to where he is at now. He was going to be put away for a long time, and I already had lost all hope. All they kept saying is it was not looking good, he did this and that, not ever giving us any hope or good news, it was nerve-racking just waiting to see what the judge was going to indict my son with. But one day, they said the Professor was going to take over and represent your son. We all asked, what’s a Professor’s going to do. Well to our surprise, the professor was the Attorney, Mr. David Cunningham, thank you God!!! it is like a miracle to us, he took charge and did not waste time. David was and is always diligent and persistent, always stayed on top of my son’s case. I did not even have to call him one time. He would always keep us informed to tell us how the case was going. In less than two months, he wrapped things up and made it happen. I wish I knew about him from the beginning. Just about every week David visited my son during the pandemic, bad weather and all. This made my son and us very happy, comfortable and gave us peace of mind. My son knew Mr. Cunningham will visit him and was always looking forward to seeing him. All my family members kept praying for Mr. Cunningham so he would not get sick, they kept saying that God sent him to free our son. I do not even know how to explain it, my eyes are watery as I am writing, trying to stay strong and see what the future holds for my son. Mr. Cunningham is always very positive, optimistic, and knowledgeable. He never let us lose hope. Sure, enough the big day came, court day in February 2O21, Mr. Cunningham looking very sharp and professional and made sure my son was clean and presentable, not like the first time when he went in front of the Judge, scared, lost, and confused. David gave us the great news, it all went well, our son got deferred adjudication. Praise the Lord, my son will finally come home. My most high respects and gratitude go to this fine caring gentleman, thank you so much. I do not know how else to express my joy and happiness, what would have happened if he had not stepped in. My son is everything to me and I cannot wait for him to come home and sit with us at the dinner table and enjoy a good talk and a delicious homemade meal. Thanks again, Mr. Cunningham, YOU ROCK!!!!! Most of us do not have our own attorney because we never plan to need one. My son had an acute psychotic break and was being treated at a behavioral health hospital. He slapped another patient and the patient wanted to press charges, which resulted in our son being arrested, charged with assault and ...taken to jail. we had no idea what to do or who to contact. We had a face-to-face meeting with Mr. David Cunningham and reviewed our son’s situation. Mr. Cunningham was professional, competent, yet very personable and it was obvious he practiced with integrity. Furthermore, he knows the Harris County court system and has been a licensed attorney for 38 years as a criminal defense attorney. We had no idea what the arrest would involve and what steps would be required. When Mr. Cunningham met with us, he told us what the cost would be up front, and the steps involved in our dealing with the charge. Mr. Cunningham communicated with us through text, phone calls, and an occasional in person meeting. He communicated frequently and kept us up to date on what was going on. With some advice from Mr. Cunningham, we documented our son’s progress, the doctor plans (psychiatrist and psychologist) and medication regiment he was following. This detailed treatment plan was presented to the other attorney, and the case was dismissed. Mr. Cunningham took an interest in our son’s case and was very caring and pleasant to work with during the legal processes. In addition, he explained it all in language and terms we could understand. We are now working with Mr. Cunningham to get the records associated with this arrest expunged. We are incredibly pleased with Mr. Cunningham.
