Thank you for reviewing my profile.   A few things you might like to know:

• I was a single parent with sole custody of my child for over a decade, after two custody fights. I didn’t have representation in either case.
• Be wary of attorney "review" sites by clients.  Anyone with an axe to grind can write **ANYTHING** negative they want and an attorney is legally bound to protect the privacy of the attorney-client relationship and can NOT respond to anything negative (assuming it was even posted by a former client and not an old flame or an employee the attorney had to terminate, or even a former opponent in Court!).  Reviews are never verified for accuracy and can remain anonymous.
• I actually get a number of my referrals from people I oppossed in court.  Several times a year in consults I hear that the reason someone has been referred to me is because I represented their friend's ex and now their friend, after being on the losing end, has sent them to me.
• If you are thinking of representing yourself in court, know that you are held to the same standards as a licensed Texas attorney.  Judges can not help you.
• No attorney can undo what got you into their office or guarantee you a certain result.  But unlike your family, friends, or the Internet, I can give you the unbiased information you deserve.
• I am not your friend, and I am *not* your therapist.  And a good lawyer will never try to be.

A graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law​, N.J. completed internships at the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office (family violence/ sex crimes unit), the Bexar County Civil Staff Attorney’s Office, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, the United States Department of Justice (U.S. Attorney’s Office), and with the 10th County Court-at-Law of Bexar County.  He earned a Pro Bono Service Award for free legal services to the San Antonio Community, completed the Mediator Training curriculum for the State Bar of Texas, was a volunteer administrative law judge for the City of San Antonio Housing Authority, and was offered an associate professorship of law before graduation.

 From 2010 to 2015, he practiced family law and criminal defense, with extensive experience in Central Texas (Bell, Coryell, Lampasas, Cameron, Bexar, Travis & Williamson counties).  From 2015 to 2016 he practiced in the D/FW area, primarily in Dallas, Collin, and Denton county.  In 2016 he returned to Central Texas to practice exclusively family law.  He has experience in many aspects of family law, from establishing paternity, filing for divorce, enforcing divorce and child support actions, to mediations, protective orders, CPS actions, Attorney General cases (especially interstate cases) ​and hearings for Temporary, Final, and Modification of Orders in both bench and jury trial settings. Having practiced next to Ft. Hood & Ft. Sam Houston, he has extensive knowledge of the issues service members and their families face.  He is a member of Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans, Texas Lawyers for Children, The State Bar College, the Family Law division of the State Bar, and was a member of the State Bar of Texas Committee on Crime Victims.

His charity work includes the Blazeman Foundation (War on ALS), the Eric Marsh Foundation, the Dennis Leary Firefighter's Foundation, and the Steven Stiller (Tunnel to Towers) foundation.   

Prior to becoming an attorney, he spent over 15 years as both a paid and volunteer first responder in both law enforcement and fire/EMS.  He remains a volunteer firefighter.
