I am currently embroiled in a very litigious post divorce case that started because of the perpetration of acts of domestic violence against myself and my children by my ex-husband. Lisa McKnight fearlessly stepped into my case AT THE LAST MINUTE in order to represent the interests of my children, a...nd she has been extremely effective in front of the judges that have been assigned to my case. I have been truly impressed by her professionalism, how she investigates the Texas Family Code, Texas rules of procedure and any other relevant statute in order to defend my position in court and how she is always on top of her game. She is excellent at keeping me focused on what is relevant in a court of law since I am not always objective to the elements of my own case. Based on her years of experience in the Dallas court rooms, she has developed an intricate understanding of the best way of communicating to each individual judge who has been assigned to the case. For example, some judges prefer to see a time line of events leading to the present day, while other judges might prefer a different mode of presentation. Her oral and written communication skills are also quite impressive. She understands the fine art of legal argument before the judge, being careful to always present her line of reasoning within the context of the law and within the context of the case. I have seen other attorneys whose brutal attacks in court and lack of professionalism have been shocking. However, Lisa McKnight always maintains her dignity in the court room and is always professional. I have never seen her stoop to a level of conduct that is not becoming, and this has helped to further increase my credibility before the court. She is also an attorney with integrity. Her staff is always extremely prepared when we are in court and they are instrumental in helping Lisa to have the necessary documentation in her hands at the moment when she requires it. If you want custody of your children, Lisa is the lawyer to hire in the Dallas Metroplex area. In the last four years, Lisa has handled several cases for our family. My wife and I have been previously married with children. She handled my wife’s child support case, my divorce, and my subsequent cus...tody case. In 2009, I hired Lisa to handle my divorce case, in which see did an exceptional job. She told me on my first visit, that I was going to have an uphill battle. I was in a conservative county, conservative court, with a judge known to have a reputation for favoring mothers. After stating that, her next comment was, “now let’s see how to keep your kids”, and went to work. With her skill, I was able to keep primary custody of my children, and my home. In 2013, my wife and I were sued by my ex to try and get custody of my children. After eight months, and four court appearances, we walked away with full custody of my children, and several large monetary judgments against my ex. She has also made it very difficult for the ex to sue us again. She also handled a child support case when my wife’s ex sued her to reduce child support. Lisa did her homework and found out that he had a part-time job, and was able to preserve the child support for her. Lisa does her homework ahead of time, prepares for your case with all evidence and documentation needed, and knows about everything she can find out about your opponent, their lawyer and the judge. She understands their strengths and styles and prepares accordingly. When In Court, she demonstrates great confidence; she knows when to be aggressive, and when to tune it down a notch, she knows when to show strength, and when to show understanding. She does her best to work things out with the opponent to avoid going to court, saving both money and time; however, if the opponent is not willing to go that route, then she does her best to secure the best outcome for her clients. You will find Lisa not only a smart and intelligent lawyer, but also a compassionate person. She identifies with your issues, and lives your frustration, and will take it on as if they were her issues. It was kind of funny to see her reactions towards the opponent and how frustrated she seems to be towards them which make you really believe that she is on your side and is as a family member who knows what you’ve been through and is ready to put an end to your misery.
