also known as Scott David Stewart
Scott Stewart is an experienced and successful lawyer in Phoenix and founder of the Arizona Law Group. Arizona Law Group was started with a single focus on the client and their experience dealing with difficult emotional legal matters. The firm has successfully earned the trust and respect of more than 8,000 clients in cases ranging from family law, domestic relations, criminal defense and DUI representation.
Criminal Defense Representation
Scott has a criminal defense history that began over 20 years ago. Although he was determined to focus his education on criminal law practice, he never envisioned himself in the spotlight of the nationally syndicated TV show Extra®. But that’s exactly what happened.
As a senior at Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law, he joined the team of law students assisting in the defense representation of two high-profile death penalty cases. In Illinois v. Edgar A. Hope, the team successfully uncovered exculpatory evidence (evidence of innocence) which allowed Edgar Hope an opportunity to prove his innocence at an evidentiary hearing. Illinois Governor Ryan then commuted Hope’s death sentence to life in prison. In Illinois v. Bryan, McClurkin Scott prepared the defense and assisted in the capitol murder trial. Bryan McClurkin was spared the death penalty, mainly because of the presentation of mitigating evidence by his defense team.
This sent Scott on a lifelong quest to help the accused. Scott is committed to protecting the rights of those accused of committing criminal offenses and concentrates his practice exclusively on criminal defense.
Family Law Representation
The firm expanded into family law practice in 2007. Since then, the firm has successfully earned the trust and respect of more than 3,000 clients in cases ranging from simple marital dissolutions to complex property division, child custody, navigating Arizona paternity laws, parental visitation, and child relocation disputes. Mr. Stewart is known as a top-rated divorce attorney in Phoenix.
Mr. Stewart believes the firm’s success and its client testimonials are a direct result of his vision and approach to client-focused representation. The firm strongly believes that clients benefit tremendously from their exclusive family law and domestic relations representation, their collective years of experience during weekly meetings and strategy sessions, and transparent billing policy.
Education
After graduating from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communication, Mr. Stewart chose to attend the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law. Chicago-Kent was his law school of choice because of their renowned reputation for producing trial attorneys, as well as their signature certificate program in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
While in law school, Mr. Stewart became a certified mediator with the Center for Conflict Resolution and successfully mediated high conflict landlord-tenant disputes for Cook County Circuit Court. Mr. Stewart participated in the law school’s criminal defense clinic where he, along with several law students and their clinical professor, researched, investigated, and uncovered evidence proving a death row inmate’s innocence.
The law school, the students, and their professor were profiled on the nationally syndicated television show Extra® and numerous other local media news stations. The amazing experience gained while in law school taught Mr. Stewart important negotiation, litigation, and investigation skills that he utilizes on a daily basis representing family law clients.

The son of a small business owner, he credits his parents for his entrepreneurial spirit and a strong emphasis on core values such as integrity, respect, responsibility, leadership, work ethic, and family. These values guide him daily in his representation of family law, divorce, and child custody clients.
Mr. Stewart loves the State of Arizona, mentoring and assisting with children, and counseling families dealing with difficult family law issues. In his spare time, you may find him frequenting his local gym, golfing in the warm Arizona sun, volunteering at church, or spending time with family and friends.

I met with Dianne Sullivan & hired her after our first consultation. This is my 2nd try on the same divorce & after speaking with her I'm actually glad my first attorney screwed up my case because she believes my case wasn't settled in my best interest.
