Chris did an excellent job for me and had outstanding oversight of my case. He's extremely trustworthy, knowledgeable, and his advice was spot on. He was extremely mindful of costs and I didn't spend a dime more than necessary. He's very experienced in divorce and mediation. My only complaint is that... he is a man of very few words and sometimes I was unclear on where things stood in the process. Maybe he's been through this so much he assumes one knows what's going on (I rarely deal with the legal system). He always answered my emails immediately, but sometimes they were really short answers. But ultimately he was always watching my back, kept costs down, and I was 100% satisfied with the settlement. Go in knowing what you want, be honest with him, and he'll deliver.

Chris represented me in a number of court proceedings from 2010-2012, that followed my 2007 divorce. This period, following my divorce, continued to prove to be very stressful. Chris was there, helping me along and fighting for me in court. The proceedings encompassed a range of issues associated w...ith child custody, child support, and the related enforcement (from spouse). He understood court process, both outside the courtroom, as well as in. Chris proved to be very professional and knowledgeable in all of these areas. He listened to my problems, explained how to proceed via the court, explained all of the options including pros and cons, and then listened to what I wanted to do. He took me step-by-step through the process and prepared me for my court appearances. His prepared court filings were very thorough, clear, and most importantly, enforceable. I consider my association with Chris to be very successful and would highly recommend him as a family law or divorce lawyer. Communication with Chris was minimized, but he was always there when I had questions and was always willing to meet when I desired a face-to-face meeting. Correspondence was usually via email, which he usually answered within the hour, but were always responded to the same day. Mr. Schmiedeke’s office was easy and responsive to work with. Billing occurred monthly with a detailed bill. Mr. Schmiedeke’s billing practice was very fair and rates were extremely reasonable. I fully recommend Mr. Schmiedeke as a family or divorce lawyer.

My case was in a mess, as I was sued by an inexperienced lawyer. I had already spent large amounts of money with other family lawyers who were unaware that the case filed against me wasn't filed properly. Chris worked with me to dismiss that suit, and file a proper suit for custody of my child. He wa...s calm, fair and completely rational. I especially appreciated that he understood my financial position and worked to minimize my expenses.

I would recommend Chris. He did a great job! My case was resolved quickly with the outcome in my favor. He is very affordable and knows what he is doing. I have had an exceptionally good experience working with Chris Schmiedeke Law office. Personal contact was mimimal, precise and helpful. My Child Support issue became necessary after the Texas Dept dropped the ball, DID nothing for over a year, month after month, shuffing me from agent to agent, and ...I had to fire them. I like many in this economic down-turn have extreme problems maintaining with old child support orders. By their own guidelines I qualified for a reduction of Child Support. I opened a case online with the Texas Attorney General, opened a can of worms! Chis to the rescue! For what to me meant a minimal charge; Chris stayed on the ball, through several contextural changes and resubmissions to change the order with the TX Attorney General, until the issue was resolved to my total satisfaction. After these 13 months of non action by the AG, and them telling me I would have to wait an additional 9 months to get a court date; (my son is 18 in Sept 2011 well after their court time proposal) I fired them. They suddenly found a court date (the next month) and Chris went to court for me. I live out of state in So California, and I never had to appear in a Texas court! Total time with AG, 13 months, total time with Chris handling the law talk, 4 months. Nuff said.
