About Thomas
Biography
Thomas A. Greenwald is a Board Certified Family Law attorney by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and a co-managing partner at Goranson Bain Ausley. With more than 30 years of experience, he focuses his practice on complex divorce and custody matters for professionals, executives, business owners, and their spouses in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
Tom is recognized for bringing judgment, financial discipline, and long-term thinking to high-stakes family law cases. He regularly handles matters involving substantial assets, closely held businesses, executive compensation, interstate issues, and high-conflict custody disputes. His goal is to help clients protect their financial futures while avoiding unnecessary conflict and expense whenever possible.
Before becoming a lawyer, Tom worked for IBM and earned a B.B.A. with a specialization in finance. This business and financial background allows him to approach divorce with a strategic mindset—analyzing risk, evaluating options, and developing practical solutions that hold up over time.
Tom is trained in Collaborative Divorce, is a credentialed mediator, and has extensive experience in trial and appellate advocacy. He works with clients to determine the most effective path forward, whether through negotiation, mediation, collaborative law, or litigation when necessary.
In addition to complex financial cases, Tom represents clients in Christian divorce matters, helping individuals navigate divorce in a way that reflects their faith, values, and commitment to integrity—particularly when children and long-term family relationships are involved.
