Meghan Freed practices divorce and family law at Freed Marcroft with a deep commitment to alternative dispute resolution. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Western New England College School of Law—where she was Managing Editor of the Law Review and received the Norman Prance Award—after graduating from Mount Holyoke College. Following roles at Shipman & Goodwin, Bingham McCutchen, and counsel to Hartford Steam Boiler, she pursued advanced mediation and collaborative law training through Harvard’s Program on Negotiation. Among her honors are Hartford Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty (2013), Connecticut Law Tribune’s New Leader of the Law (2013), New England Super Lawyers Rising Star (2013–2016), and National LGBT Bar Association Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 (2015). A leader in LGBT legal advocacy, Meghan co-authored a Human Rights Campaign amicus brief in the landmark Kerrigan marriage-equality decision, appears on WNPR, and speaks widely on same-sex and family law issues. She devotes most of her pro bono work to LGBT and arts organizations and serves on multiple Hartford-area nonprofit boards.
