Initially I hired the Schmiedeke firm to handle my divorce case because they had an excellent track record based on my research using sites like avvo.com. I also watched a couple of video clips that Mr. Schmiedeke had uploaded on topics related to divorce. My sense was that he is professional, compe...tent and fair. I made my first phone call to them, and Ms. Shelley Campell answered all my questions and scheduled my consultation with Mr. Schmiedek right away. Throughout my case, Ms. Shelley was extremely understanding and responsive. Based on my experience, good family lawyers in Dallas tend not to offer initial consultation with the lawyer him/herself. Not only had Mr. Schmiedeke answered all my questions during the consultation, he later even offered to answer my additional questions via phone or email, as my ex spouse and I privately negotiated the terms for months. I retained the Schmiedeke firm for an agreed case. I appreciated this option. I initially also contacted multiple other firms to compare. I was appalled by the predatory practices employed by some other firms. My feeling was that they gave me an estimate based on my income and assets and then built “a team of coaches, therapists, and lawyers” around the quote. I thought they also tried to manipulate my emotions and stress in order to rush me into signing a contract with them. I much preferred the approach centered around professional legal services offered by the Schmiedeke firm. Ms. Amanda Moore was the paralegal who was in charge of my case. She was very impressive in her management of my case. She conducted weekly check-ins when my case slowed down due to other factors. She composed my longer-than-usual decree in consultation with Mr. Schmiedeke. At every turn, her response to the development of my case was way faster than what I’d expected. Even after a judge had signed my decree, she was still super responsive and efficient in setting up child support with the judge’s office, the Attorney General’s office and my employer. Overall I am very thankful to the Schmiedeke firm for filing my divorce case. They are knowledgeable, experienced, and good with case management. I highly recommend them, and would use their service again myself.

From the first phone call, the Chris Schmiedeke Divorce Law Office made me feel not just like another client, but a personal friend and an important person to them. Every professional who worked on my case was knowledgeable, reliable and most of all, non-judgmental. They were supportive and listened ...to everything I said and made it happen. This office did not push me to hire them. I was given time to think about working with them, gave me every opportunity to discuss my concerns with Amanda, Shelly, the paralegal associates. What was great was that Atty. Chris Schmiedeke himself took time to speak with me and explain the entire process. On most online divorce sites, this did not happen when I first called them. I had a great experience working with Chris and his staff. While my case was ultimately not resolved by Chris’ practice, it was due to factors that were out of their control and I will also say that things certainly improved with my case while it was under their care. Chris is one of the few who w...ill meet with you to gain an understanding of what is going on in your case and before you’ve put down a fee or a retainer. I sent him a document which was reviewed as we spoke and ultimately felt comfortable enough to sign on immediately following the consultation. This is an honest group of people as well. Legal services are not cheap but you will be given opportunities to reduce your costs a little if you follow steps provided by your assigned attorney or Amanda who serves as the paralegal. I was surprised to receive some of the helpful, cost savings suggestions I did. Now, if you’re lazy and just want to outsource every bit of the work for your divorce these suggestions won’t work. But if you’re that checked out with what is at stake, you’re in trouble anyways. The fees are very reasonable and I was impressed by each of the attorneys I worked with including during courtroom appearances. Most cases settle before reaching that point but mine did not. These attorneys get to the point in the court room and don’t get sucked into the faux anger or putting on a show with excessive displays of emotion. I witnessed nothing but professional behavior out of my representation even in the face of the opposing counsel from one of the larger firms (with higher bill rates) coming unglued in the hallway of the courtroom. You’ll also find each member of the team pleasant to work with and often going beyond to serve you. I always appreciated Shelly’s demeanor when working to coordinate a meeting or the numerous conversations with Amanda when things were heating up. The communication with this team is very strong as well. This is a time consuming and what seems like never ending process but working with this team, you’ll find even a contentious proceeding manageable.

I am literally writing a review, everywhere that I can, so individuals like me, will know that there are law offices that are transparent about divorce. What other firms most experienced lawyer post videos to inform you of questions you have without paying him. I worked with Daniel, and I can not e...xpress how beneficial it was to have had him handling my divorce. He is very personable, well-spoken, and stands firm on what he knows. Daniel always gave me a realistic perspective that pertained to my specific situation. I also need to mention that Shelly is also awesome and very professional. And i would need more characters to fully thank Amanda, for her hard work, dedication, and professionalism. It still blows my mind that collectively this team is so efficient, because my case isn’t the only case they are working on. I know that when a divorce is happening there are so many factors you are focused on, don’t let finding a lawyer be the difficult one, just read the reviews.
