Jerome came highly recommended from a lawyer we trust from Gregg County, so he is well-known across Texas. My child support was backed up for several months, pending a divorce the - The Ex was mandated to pay the child support but because Stein had still not filed the divorce - my child support would not be distributed. Stein said there is nothing that could be done; but hiring another attorney, within 2...4 hours, the child support disbursement office has since returned the child support to the Ex and now the EX pays me direct.

I have been stewing over my previous experience with Jerome Stein in regards to invoicing and ignored requests. Last year, I was in the middle of a tedious divorce and I needed invoicing from Jerome to prove to the court my expenses in regards to division of assets and expenses. What I thought was ...a basic request became an arduous ordeal. I am not sure why I would need to request invoices when it is the ethical responsibility of the attorney to furnish said information to their client. I am still considering a lawsuit against Jerome as he kept requesting more funds without stipulating why and what the previous expenses where used for. I suggest that you keep this guy on a short leash and offer no funds in addition to the retainer if he is not able to provide invoices in a timely manner. In addition, I have requested to meet in person at his office and he consistently offers coffee shops and other locations. Not sure of the reason for this but red flags are definitely apparent so do your homework.

Mr. Stein proved to be respected by the court staff and judge. He was a great advocate for my children throughout the process and kept them in front of key decisions- that was important to me. Jerome was very effective at negotiating with apposing counsel, and conducted business with a class that se...ts him apart from the stereotypical lawyer. He is a credit to his contemporaries and I am glad I met him.
