Awesome Lawyer!

I was arrested for a DWI. The week after I received tons of letters from lawyers, and hers stood out to me the most. She did and amazing job getting me the best deal possible. She's very, very thorough with everything. She was there every step of the way. Anytime I needed her she was just a call away.... I will always be thankful and grateful for her.

Life changed and beyond thankful - Case Dismissed

Words cannot begin to explain how thankful and pleased I am with Nancy and for all the hard work she put into getting my case dismissed. She truly was heaven sent! Never in million years could I have imagined that my DWI 2 case would run so smoothly and ultimately be thrown out. Nancy not only kno...ws the law, she’s passionate about it and truly cares for her client’s wellbeing. I recall my first meeting with her, she diligently listened and took note of everything I had to say without judging me. Because this was my second DWI, my first being nearly a decade ago, I felt so ashamed of the situation I had once again found myself in. Nancy genuinely expressed concern for me as a person. She went as far as asking me if I needed assistance in locating an AA or support group. She then made a pact with me, that she would do everything in her power to help me but that I also had to show her that I was willing to learn from this and make a change in my life. Upon retaining her she quickly began to gather details from the DA’s office and gave me constant updates which really went a long way in calming my nerves (I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown). When she received the video from DPD she called me in and we watched it together. Without going into detail, she almost immediately concluded that the officer had no justified reason for pulling me over. She suggested that we file a “Motion to Suppress” based on facts shown in the officer's car/body cam footage. This was in late August 2018. The months began to roll by and Nancy attended my court dates and would email or call me with updates almost immediately afterward (understandably sometimes a day later). At one point the interlock device in my vehicle failed due to battery issues and upon informing her of the potential problem it could cause with my pre-trail officer, Nancy was ready to spring into action. Fortunately, it wasn’t necessary, but once again knowing I had someone in my corner went a very long way. Finally, in January, Nancy informed me that she had met with the DA’s office and that they did not agree that the stop was unjustified. She again reassured me that she had a strong argument based on the facts seen in the video and would proceed with filing with motion. February - D-DAY Nancy was nothing less than incredible. She was confident, knowledgeable, and firm with her argument and although the arresting officer was present as a state witness, Nancy was completely unshaken (TOTAL BEAST MODE). After about 45 minutes the judge said the sweetest sounding two words I’ve ever heard “Motion sustained”. My case was pretty much dismissed. In the hallway, Nancy once again reminded me that this was a “Gift” and that she didn’t to ever see me in that situation again. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Nancy. May God Bless you always. Ps: I am now going on almost 7 months sober, thanks be to God, my family, friends, and Nancy’s push.

Great Choice, Great Representation, Great Lawyer!

I had an incident that resulted in an alleged DWI a couple years ago and wasn't sure what to do next. I googled and spoke to several lawyers who could potentially represent me. I decided to hire Nancy after seeing her track record & I was not disappointed. Nancy is very easy to work with and is genui...ne when you speak to her. But you have to do your part and give her every detail and ask questions. She is very knowledgeable and good at what she does. My case was ultimately dismissed and its all thanks to Nancy. Cant stress enough how much negative weight was hanging over me. I highly recommend Nancy Ohan as your defense lawyer. Thank you again Nancy!

How much is Peace of Mind?

It's my second DWI. I was all stressed out knowing there was a strong possibility for jail time and outrageous fines. I had to find a good lawyer, not just "a" lawyer. A friend, who Nancy represented gave me her info and assured me peace of mind. I am very glad I took that recommendation because I ...am very satisfied with the outcome and how she handled the case. I recommend Nancy to anyone with confidence and I assure you "peace of mind".

Read! POCKETING PLEA DEALS, NOT JUSTICE!

Please take a moment to read my review and consider I'm writing it almost six years after Nancy Elizabeth Ohan represented me. Hopefully my experience will make anyone who reads this to have heavy feet and a tugging conscious when thinking of setting up a consultation appointment with her or think of... retaining her black-hearted services. I was fresh in my early twenties and had an evening I will forever regret. I had an accident which involved a DWI. The shame of my case came from every individual involved, notably the police and Nancy. To begin, Nancy disclosed the police report to me which included numerous fallacies. The police wrote I haven drinking in a bar that night and was belligerent and drunk. I told Nancy the report was a flat out lie. I had ONE margarita all night the late Cyclone Anaya's on Oaklawn Avenue. After the accident I drove a block back to the police station, exited the vehicle and turned myself in. Still! Nancy, thought the charge of Failure to Stop and Render Aide was permissible, a please deal suitable to her conscious and pockets. Even though I had an accident at a stop sign and drove ONE BLOCK back to the police station? Folks, she plays directly into the awful plea deal system this country has established. She was very dismissive and simply advised there was nothing she could do, however this is a mere joke to what came next. That evening my then partner and I had an argument that escalated at his residence in University Park. I told Nancy we were upstairs in the master bedroom and were shouting at one another. I was in the hall and my partner was just beyond the threshold of the door in the master bedroom. I slammed the door and it literally bumped his elbow. This is the truth, not a guilty man's cry for help. My partner even tried to get the police and DA to drop the bogus claims of Family Violence to no avail. The worst part was I showed up to court NOT KNOWING that Nancy would have me signing a PLEA DEAL with the DA that linked my DWI to a Family Violence case. I being a 22 year old man with a whole life ahead told her I was not in agreeence with the terms and that I didn't feel comfortable accepting a plea deal forever labeling me as a Family Violence offender with assault! She was again her dismissive and hurried self as she pushed me to accept it and made me feel it was my only option. Not to mention all the classes and alcohol courses I was required to do. This is the help the courts thought I so needed, in addtion to a lifetime label Nancy so happily dolled out. That was great, however Nancy without any care of concern dealt me out the worst plea deal you could ever imagine. The worst part is it was all a lie, my partner was never assaulted, a door was slammed. No I didn't hurt him or deserve a Family Violence charge that can never been expunged or receive e a notice of non disclosure. If you read my review and think I'm just writing as some ashamed victim, I'm not. I just know with every fiber of my being that the plea deal Nancy shoved in my face is shameful abuse of the justice system. If you do anything after reading my review do yourself one favor and watch the documentary "13th" on Netflix hearald as an "unflinching documentary" by the New York Times. From my personal experience Nancy is a perfect example of legal counsel and the DA abusing our legal system to delve out the grimiest and most shoddy plea deals. Think STRONGLY when choosing your attorney...it's your life.

I agree that you should put a lot of thought into the lawyer you choose because it is your life. However, I do not agree with any other part of this review. In the twenty two years I have practiced law, I have never been motivated by money. I expect to get paid, yes, but my fees are incredibly reasonable, and I more than earn every single cent that I charge. I truly believe that people without a lot of money deserve excellent representation. I believe I provide excellent representation as an attorney and a human being which is apparent from my number of good reviews, the clients that continue to keep in contact with me even after their cases are closed, and the number of invitations and announcements I receive from clients when they graduate, have a baby, etc. With respect to this review, I can count on one hand the number of family violence cases I have resolved through plea bargains in the last ten years. I do not resolve cases with a plea bargain unless it is my client's choice to do so. Period. I take the "counselor" part of "attorney and counselor" seriously. I believe this distinguishes me from a lot of lawyers. I actually care and discuss not only the case, but whatever personal problems might be affecting my clients. This is why this review baffles me which is putting it lightly. I was obviously not successful in getting this person's cases dismissed. However, that does not mean that I didn't try or put everything I had into their representation and helping them sort through their personal issues. Blaming someone else for one's own problems is the best way to deflect any personal responsibility. The hardest thing a person can do is hold a mirror up to themselves and hold themselves accountable for what is going on in their life. I am truly sorry that six years after the fact this person is in such a bad mental place that they needed someone to blame and made me their target. However, this is my life and my reputation. Just as I fight for my clients, I will most definitely fight for myself and the truth. Nancy Elizabeth Ohan
