Carl David Ceder

Carl Ceder represented my daughter (a minor) in various criminal matters and was the consummate professional. Carl was always easy to reach, returned phone calls, emails, and texts, and took a very proactive approach in dealing with our case. Carl gives honest feedback and will paint a clear pictur...e of what you can expect and what your options are. Dealing with criminal matters is stressful enough, but Carl, along with office manager Sandy, made it a lot less so. I highly recommend them.

The number of positive reviews on Mr. Ceder speaks for his credentials. There is a reason for that high number of reviews, simply because he is the best. Carl was my lawyer for my first DWI in Texas against a prosecution with a strong police report and BAC technicals. While choosing a lawyer my expe...rience says you need to look for all important criteria and not just some. Here is what I consider any client would expect from a criminal lawyer and my observations as best qualities of Mr. Ceder. Attention to details - You need an attorney who will spend time to study your case details. Carl does the best in this area. Not only the specifics to my DWI case, but he was diligent about my immigration related aspects as well. He never said it is not his specialization, but guided me throughout. Trial lawyer - It is a known fact that not all attorneys are up for trial. Carl did an excellent job in explaining to the jury, all the discrepancies in police report vs the actual video that too in a convincing manner. Jury liked his presentation, his articulation which made them to arrive at a decision probably in record time. Plan and Execution - My case had a particular situation. The cop who arrested me was later fired from the police department. As soon as Mr. Ceder came to know he asked for a continuum in proceedings to investigate further. This helped in building the defense in a much better way. Unless your lawyer wants to spend time on your case they can simply ignore such tedious tasks and just let it go. Mr. Ceder is an exception here. Persistence for winning - Many a times I wanted to pull back from the trial and go for plea as the court proceedings were getting delayed repeatedly. Mr. Ceder was patient, he stuck with the plan which he believed and convinced me every time why it would be a bad idea. Admit it, client is not the expert in legal matters, that is why we are hiring an attorney. Any other attorney could have simply accepted my request and got the job done sooner. Mr. Ceder is very different, if he knows your case has strong reasons for a trial, he will make sure you do the right thing, not take the easy way out. Expert knowledge - Mr. Ceder has got an in depth understanding of the science behind BAC and SFSTs. Cops and other officials cannot simply fool him in a trial. His counter questions put the State witnesses in a position where they had to acknowledge the limitations of their findings based on science. Reasonable cost - This is definitely one aspect for many when they chose a lawyer. Surprisingly for a premium lawyer like Mr. Ceder, he is very reasonable and predictable when it comes to cost. He is not an attorney who will give you a contract full of ifs and buts and later charge you for every step in the process. Mr. Ceder's approach is pretty straight forward, he will tell you his fee and a clear contract of what all is included. Pretty much everything you would require will be there within his predicted fee. Great support staff - You will like Sandy (Para-legal) if you contract Ceder. She is thorough about legal requirements and very prompt in responding to your emails or phone calls. She will never keep you guessing about the status. Also I really liked his dad (the investigator) on the day of the trial. His presence was so comfortable and he was there to provide his views and guide us in all steps. A great guy to be in the team. In short I am grateful that I did contact Mr. Ceder and made the right decision. I highly recommend him. If you are in need for a criminal defense lawyer, and you know all points mentioned above are important criteria for you then Carl is the best bet in Dallas area. You wont be disappointed.

Ok, where do I begin....I had just moved to Dallas from New York City a few months prior to getting pulled over by a police officer for driving over the speed limit.....just 10 over....Oops. Of course, living in NYC I didn't have to worry about this since I didn't drive at all in NYC, but not knowin...g how to handle this in TX and what I can actually say "NO" to, I was questioned about drinking and then all of a sudden I was asked to step out of my vehicle and perform a series of test along with a Breathalyzer Test. Well, it didn't go well after that. Skipping forward to several months later when I had my first hearing in Court, before Court Day, I researched several layers I can possibly work with. Carl Ceder had quite a bit of referrals and reviews that made me feel comfortable reaching out to him. The first person I spoke with was Sandy (Paralegal) for Carl's office. I have to say, she was pretty great to work with for the last couple of years. When I first spoke to hear...she was informative and basically told me how this was going to play out. She was honest and wasn't afraid of letting me know the serious consequences of a DWI and how it can affect me for the rest of my life. But at the same time, she was supportive and positive about the situation and told me that Carl and his office will do whatever they can to help me through this and make it as smooth as possible. There were no promises made but she came across like they seriously cared and would work hard to get the best outcome for me. That's what I needed to hear....the truth. How this was really going to turn out. This was April 2014. It is now May 2016. She warned me it was going to be a long process. After speaking with Sandy for the first time in April, I then met with Carl a few days later. He was obviously informative and well experienced. Very well put together and professional. Carl was also realistic and positive at the same time. The way he carry's himself and speaks with confidence is comforting to me because I needed someone to guide me through this. I needed someone who knew what they were doing and they were not going to scare me in anyway. Many phone calls and court dates later, in May 2016, Carl managed to get my DWI down to Obstruction of Highway....which is so much better than a DWI. Listen, I'll be honest, my alcohol level was pretty high.....so this is a much better outcome than I expected. I'm happy with it and pleased with the services from Carl Ceder's office. I felt the support from him and Sandy always. Once again, I'll be honest, I didn't worry about it as much as I should have.....perhaps I just kept in mind that everything will work out and I'll be fine. Well, thanks to Carl, he made this a reality and I'm in a much better place than I was a month ago when I was worried I was going to be convicted of a DWI and I could possible face time and an absurd amount of surcharges and fees that I would have been dealing with for many years to come. I was referred to Carl to obtain an occupational license after having my license suspended for refusing a breathalyzer. His office was extremely quick and thorough and I had a surprisingly pleasant experience during a very unpleasant time. I would/will recommend to anyone who gets into this kind of s...ituation. Carl handled my DWI 2nd case, where I was arrested in TX while in town for work. This was an extremely stressful situation for me as I live across the country and was very very concerned about the outcomes both legally and professionally for me.
