Holly Draper is the CEO and Managing Partner of The Draper Law Firm, PC. She oversees all cases at the firm and ensures the team handling each case follows her standards of excellence. Ms. Draper is board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and she has experience handling a wide variety of complex family law matters, ranging from high net worth divorces to highly contested child custody cases and everything in between. She is considered a top expert in the state in parent vs. non-parent child custody litigation and regarding constitutional parental rights.
Ms. Draper is also an accomplished family law appellate lawyer. Most notably, Ms. Draper has won two landmark constitutional parental rights case in the Texas Supreme Court. In 2020, Ms. Draper represented the prevailing father in In re C.J.C., a parent vs. non-parent custody case that has been referred to as the most important parental rights case in Texas history. In 2025, she secured another significant victory in Stary v. Ethridge, a pivotal case concerning the constitutional standards for issuing protective orders longer than two years that prohibit contact between a parent and minor child.
Ms. Draper is a Fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and she serves on the Amicus Committee. She is active in the Family Law Sections of the Collin County Bar Association and State Bar of Texas and has served on the leadership team with the Collin County Bar Association’s Family Law Section. She also participates in the Collin County Women Lawyer’s Association, the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, and the Curt B. Henderson American Inn of Court. Ms. Draper served for six years on the State Bar of Texas’ Law Practice Management Committee. She also speaks regularly at continuing education seminars and bar association meetings statewide, particularly on the topic of parent vs. non-parent child custody litigation. Ms. Draper has served on the Family Law Council Appellate Committee for the State Bar of Texas, which reviews cases pending in the Texas Supreme Court that would have a significant impact on family law and makes recommendations to the Family Law Council regarding the filing of amicus briefs in such cases.
Ms. Draper has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in the field of family law by Super Lawyers Magazine every year since 2019. Only 5% of attorneys in the state receive this honor. She was recognized as a Top 100 Lawyer in Texas, Top 50 Women Lawyer in Texas, and Top 100 Lawyer in Dallas/Fort Worth in 2025 and 2026 by Super Lawyer’s Magazine. Previously, Ms. Draper was recognized as a Rising Star in the field of family law for 2016, 2017, and 2018. Rising Stars represent the top 2.5% of attorneys under 40 (or practicing less than ten years). Holly Draper grew up in Plano, Texas and graduated from Plano East Senior High in 1997. After graduating summa cum laude from Texas Tech in 2001 with a B.A. in Public Relations, Ms. Draper received her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 2004. Outside of the office, Ms. Draper enjoys spending time with her husband, Rob, their two teenage children, and their dogs (a Great Dane and a silver lab). She loves traveling the world with her family, with family favorites including Australia, Iceland, Greece, and South Africa.
