An Amazingly Talented + Understanding Attorney

I was SO nervous to go through the process of filing a wrongful termination lawsuit. After speaking with several other attorneys, I was in tears, thinking all attorneys were the same. But at last, Ethan Zelizer was recommended to me and upon speaking to him, I immediately felt at ease. He is so patie...nt, kind, and understanding. He gives full disclosure of the entire process so your expectations are realistic. He is very sensitive and also, quite funny and an absolute pleasure to work with. Not only did he make the process as smooth as possible, it was also an enjoyable experience. He truly fights for his clients with integrity in the most intellectual way. It was truly a pleasure to work with him. If you want an attorney that will work hard for you and get results with minimal stress on you, the client, I highly recommend Ethan Zelizer. My lawsuit settled in mediation and I was VERY happy and thankful to ethan for listening and keeping my needs as his client first. He is the BEST!

It's a match: sales executive talks to many before finding Ethan Zelizer, the "right" attorney

I was in Big Pharma. I was a 10 year female employee who was making north of $250k with my bonus structure. I got a brand spanking new sales manager who liked to call me "honey" and comment on my outfits and what he'd like me to wear. He said I'd be better off wearing shorter skirts. I was sexually ...harassed. I was fired after complaining. But they called it a reorganization and said I just didn't "fit" anymore. I met with Mr. Zelizer, face to face, during a consultation. During that time, Mr. Zelizer was easy to talk to and he gave me some excellent advice. The consultation fee was worth the advice. However, I still wanted to look around. What I found out, is that many attorneys will not meet with you, and talk to you, like Mr. Zelzier did with me. With other attorneys, you are required to fill out a questionnaire, which leaves out so many details; then someone there, determines it's not a good fit. Or, you get to speak with their receptionist, and he/she determines that the attorney will not take your case, no reason provided. Or, the attorney will possibly give you a call back, but be ready to defend yourself. ( I felt like I was already on trial and it wasn't going too good!) Then, some of the attorneys, are very concerned and want to represent you, just send your payment in and all documents via email, one of their attorneys will get to it. Finally, you get the attorney, that seems concerned, and knowledgeable, then you find out that if you don't settle before going to court, you will need another attorney. Naturally, I knew that I had already found the best Law firm (HR Law Counsel and Ethan) for me and for my case. Mr. Zelizer is sincere, I truly feel that he cares about me, and is concerned with the outcome of my case and how my life will be affected for the long term. Mr. Zelizer is smart and extremely knowledgeable, this is his SPECIALTY and has the credentials to back him up! (he teaches employment law for Petes sake). Mr. Zelizer is straightforward, to the point, a no nonsense kind of guy. If he doesn't know something, he will tell you so, find out, then he will get back with you in a timely manner. In terms of results: I was very satisfied with how my case was resolved. Ethan advised me against taking several settlement offers because he had confidence in the case and knew we could defeat the company in court. I had other attorneys tell me that they'd be happy to get what ethan was u satisfied with given the facts. So, we prepared the lawsuit, began interviewing employees and were about to set up appointments with a newspaper and industry journal, when the company decided to meet our demands in full. We settled for exactly what I wanted. It was what ethan thought the case was worth and it turns out that he was right. A quick note about expectations: He cares a lot about setting expectations to make sure his clients are happy with the end result. If you're expectations are askew and he can't counsel you otherwise, he'll likely decline representation and give you the names of other good lawyers. It's not because he doesn't believe in you. Rather, he wants to make sure you're happy and satisfied. He knows what he can deliver or what a court should deliver if it goes there. I had some unreasonable expectations in the beginning (you always hear about the million dollar awards and I thought my case could get me that). There was no rhyme or reason to why I thought that. I just did. Ethan explained the law, how damages are calculated and for what damages can be awarded for. I trusted him, reset my ideas, and dug in for a long fight. Happily, it wasn't a long fight. I just want the world to know that I have found the best attorney around! I feel safe, and secure with Mr. Zelizer. I would highly recommend him to handle your Employment case. I don't usually get on these kind of sites, however, this was an extraordinary experience. Ethan is the attorney you want in your corner.

Reinstated to my job and EEOC Supervision to monitor my employer

After being terminated from my employer when trying to return back to work after a disability I felt lost and didn't even know the right people to call nor the steps I needed to take. Many lawyers rejected my case but Etham Zelizer was very empathetic and took the time to listen to me and took on my ...case. He was always available when I had any questions and always kept me posted on what was going on. He worked with the EEOC and managed to have me reinstated in about two months and a half, and still followed up with me to see how things were even after his job was done. He is a great labor lawyer and I highly recommend him to everyone.

Pregnant and frustrated

Ethan has to be the best lawyer around. I was working for well known company Chicago for almost 8 years. On my return back to work after a medical leave for 4 months I found out I was pregnant. I let the job know what happened sent in the necessary paperwork the day before I was suppose to start I wa...s terminated. I knew then that I need it help to fight my case! I was on the internet praying for a lead on a lawyer. Then I can't across Ethan name with all these amazing reviews and how he helped people in there time of trouble. I knew I needed the best lawyer to fight on my behalf when it came to this company. So I called Ethan and he explain my case he let me know what he could do. And it was all history after that. It's like Ethan handled my case with one arm fighting behind his back in a outstanding amount of time. It's an amazing thing when you can sit back an not worry about the outcome of the situation because you're in great hands. Ethan I want to thank you for your time! You deserve and award! I wish well in all your success.

A real advocate

I am incredibly fortunate and grateful that I had Ethan Zelizer as my attorney. He handled my wrongful termination case amazingly, and won me more than I could have ever imagined. He defeated a summary judgment motion in state court and then secured a settlement that far exceeded my expectations. Th...e company was far more willing to settle with a potential jury trial around the corner and Ethan driving the bus. But the end result was just the icing on the cake. Anyone who has gone through a wrongful termination understands the tremendous stress and distrust you go through, not to mention feeling like David versus Goliath (when up against a large company). The manner in which Ethan handled my case and proving himself as my advocate, from start to finish, reduced my stress level tremendously and reassured me that I was in “great” hands! He is highly knowledgeable and experienced in employment law, and has a unique style that is smooth, strong, brilliant, captivating, and even entertaining. I also wish to mention that he added a gesture above and beyond what he had already done for me that was entirely unexpected and further proved hes truly fighting for you. Not only did he review my resume and suggest ways to better highlight my skills, he even allowed me to mock interview with him. He's a superior human resources expert and thisntypenof "extra service" is just incredible. I HIGHLY recommend Ethan as an employment attorney! He is true greatness!! Ethan - THANK YOU again for everything!

I'm an Illinois-based employment discrimination lawyer who focuses my caseload on severance and settlement agreement negotiations when employees allege race discrimination, gender discrimination and disability discrimination. Even though our practice areas overlap, our firm frequently refers cases to Attorney Zelizer because of his great reputation, especially for non-compete terms and executive compensation.
