Ethan is who you want in your corner.

Ethan is who you want in your corner. Ethan and everyone at the HR LAW COUNSEL law firm, were my sword and shield. I hope they can be yours. I couldn’t have asked for a more qualified or caring team. We prevailed. I got justice and am healing. They have empowered me and let me know that it’s ok to... use my voice and be heard. We started as a team and ended up as a family. I cannot express enough how Ethan has helped me. Truly, I appreciate all he has done and gone through for me. Ethan, as a whole, was very empathetic and concerned about how I was treated at my previous place of employment. I should tell you that it was a large global company. I was a highly-paid executive. Ethan not only stood for me but helped me stand up to them. I was at a very low point in my life, I wasn’t sure what I needed in an attorney or what would happen. All I did know was that I had been grossly mistreated by this employer and that it should not have happened to me or anyone. As a Senior Vice President of 15 years at the company, I was passed over for promotion and a large bonus in favor of a much younger man with barely a year of experience. He ended up making $100,000 more than me after this was all said and done. I complained directly to our CEO. I was told it would be handled. I was fired the next month. I needed help. Ethan and the team did help me. We had many long hard conversations, revisited many bad situations and worked together through the whole process. While hard, these heartfelt conversations were probably the biggest thing in helping me heal and find peace. We literally went through the entire process together. Communication was always straightforward and honest on both ends. This is what is needed so that they can make the best case possible. Each step of the way was explained to me. The process and possibility of how things could go, were given to me. From there we made the informed decision about the next move. I was never forced to do anything or asked to compromise. We worked together. I put my faith in Ethan and the entire team. We were the team. They know why they are there. They know that they will have to take on some very big opponents. They have integrity. They have a strong work ethic. They are experienced and confident. They believe in what they do. Most of all, they believe in justice. It is for these reasons that I am happy to have met them all, and that I recommend them to you. Ethan and his team exceeded any and every expectation I could have had. While this is not by any means an enjoyable process, it was a satisfying experience. I am truly grateful for the knowledge and expertise they spent on my behalf. My experience with Ethan and the team started during the COVID lockdown and continued after. We were all in uncharted waters as far as how to conduct business. Ethan made it work seamlessly and it did work. We won our arbitration and the results were more than I could have hoped for -- both from a damages perspective but also from a genuine feeling of resolution and justice perspective. Just superb.

Diligent, Realistic, Reliable, and Empathetic

I had a very positive experience with Ethan. I am a LGBT executive-level employee that was unceremoniously terminated in violation of my employment contract with a large pharmaceutical company. The company had offered me a serious package but it was nothing in comparison to what I would have earned ...if they honored our agreement. In addition to the breach of contract issues, there were comments made by my direct superior about my partner and our "lifestyle." It was a multi-faceted dispute that I was about to walk away from (and sign the deal presented). I am so happy that I talked to Ethan first. Ethan met with me within a day of me contacting him and his one-hour consultation turned into three hours (although he stuck to his consultation fee of one hour, which I appreciated). Ethan was incredibly clued-in to my field and executive compensation trends generally. He is also an employment law professor and is about as knowledgeable about employment laws and protections as you could ever hope for. I was working with Ethan while the federal appellate court for IL/WI was considering whether Title VII discrimination law covered LGBT employees. Ethan walked me through the state of the law at the time I met him: no explicit federal protection, clear IL protection, arguments for federal protection that were working through the courts, and an EEOC guidance stating that Title VII should cover LGBT. Ethan was courageous enough to take that guidance and run with it, convincing my former employer and our agreed-upon mediator of why the law would support us. The entire mediation was a revelation. Soon after we concluded my representation, the appellate court found differently and all but sank the federal argument in our jurisdiction. Ethan was keenly aware of that case, where it was in the system, and worked tirelessly to get our matter rolling, argued and resolved before the hammer fell. It was really amazing to watch him work. Bottom-line: Ethan gave me realistic and unbiased advice (not just advice that would get him business) and it seemed like he was really considering my best interests. He knows about many different aspects of employment and business law which came in useful at various times during my case. He was always available and when sudden developments happened he and his staff were super responsive and jumped into action. I highly recommend him.

As Good As It Gets

Ethan was highly recommended by my friend for my very difficult employment case. Ethan and his team did a great job in litigating my employment case against a large company. The case settled after Ethan's depositions of my former boss. It was really well done. I highly recommend Ethan and his team...!

Incredible Person and an Even Better Lawyer

Having met Ethan has changed my opinion entirely on the profession of attorney at law. I met a gentle, caring, intelligent, and capable man in Ethan Zelizer. I so badly needed a viable and dedicated advocate to stand tall against a fortune 100 company. With their endless well of finances, they surely... sent their best to dismantle our efforts of proving that I was not only discriminated against under the guidelines and parameters of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Even greater and far more damaging was their constant retaliation for having complained of any such discriminatory actions against me. I was confused, lost, and very alone. When I found Ethan he swore to defend me to the end. A calm came over me as I immediately knew his honest heart would be noticed by the jury. He sought not to attack the defendants, but methodically delivered a clear and concise explanation to the letter of the law, unlike his adversaries who, while sinking deeper and deeper, resorted to disparaging and inflammatory remarks in an effort to cast the shadow of doubt upon our case. During discovery and depositions, Ethan fought against demeaning and irrelevant topics and caused my former employer to pay fees and fines due to what the court called "sanction-able discovery tactics." Unbelievably, despite the fact that all evidence pointed to their unethical, immoral, and illegal acts, the onus was on Ethan to prove that beyond a shadow of doubt, they had wronged a long term executive-level employee with a disability. Yet, Ethan was successful in fending off their motions for summary decision in my case. In the end, Ethan stood tall against Goliath and felled him with spectacular and professional demeanor and pinpoint accuracy. Ethan and his team had me poised for victory before my former employer finally settled for an amount they had sworn they'd never pay. My life was restored. Words can not explain my appreciation for his support, but also for revealing the heart of a lion. I owe this man my life.

Ethan is Awesome

I'm a business owner. I've been dealing with a long and stressful ordeal that's escalated into a legal matter. I researched different options, but was so confused and stressed out about how to proceed. I contacted other attorneys, and while a couple of them were helpful, most didn't give me much ass...istance or guidance without first asking for exorbitant fees; many of them just completely blew me off. I contacted Ethan Zelizer's firm and had great, professional experiences with his staff. Ethan charged me a very reasonable fee to review some documents related to my case and then consult with me over the phone about everything. He took his time to understand what I was dealing with and thoughtfully laid out what my options were. He dealt with some sensitive aspects of my case with great empathy and professionalism, which made me feel very comfortable in discussing everything. He let me know what he thought the relative probability of success would be for the options he laid out based on similar cases he has seen; in this sense, I feel like he gave me very good strategic advice. And of course, he thoroughly answered all of the questions I had prepared. If you're dealing with a stressful legal matter, don't hesitate to consult with Ethan Zelizer. Life is too short and you want competent and caring advice to guide you through the tough times. Trust me, his reasonable fees are well worth it. I know that when you're going through difficulties, the last thing you want to do is to spend money, but it's worth it for the kind of experienced and strategic advice that you get from Ethan Zelizer. I feel much more confident with my circumstances now and I know that you will too.
