Stacy Bardo's law practice is dedicated exclusively to the protection of consumer rights. Ms. Bardo litigates cases involving unlawful debt collection practices, consumer fraud, predatory lending, automobile fraud, wrongful repossessions, mortgage foreclosures, credit reporting disputes, identity theft, and electronic fund transfer issues, and has successfully defeated several binding mandatory arbitration clauses. She has been appointed class counsel in numerous national and statewide class actions certified in Illinois, New York, California, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington and is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and the Northern District of Indiana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Practice areas
I file suits for consumers who have been the victims of unlawful debt collection practices, consumer fraud, predatory lending, automobile fraud, wrongful repossessions, problematic mortgage foreclosures, incorrect credit reporting, and identity theft.
22 years
I represent consumers in class action litigation against debt collectors, mortgage lenders/servicers, credit reporting bureaus and furnishers of credit information, and other businesses committing unfair or deceptive practices. Often times, my individual client is not the only person to suffer the same wrong so a class action is the appropriate mechanism for relief. I have served as class counsel in actions certified in Illinois, New York, California, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington.
22 years
I assist consumers who are being contacted by debt collectors to know their rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Illinois Collection Agency Act.
