Consumer Protection 65%

I file suits for consumers who have been the victims of unlawful debt collection practices, consumer fraud, predatory lending, automobile fraud, wrongful repossessions, problematic mortgage foreclosures, incorrect credit reporting, and identity theft.

Class Action 25%

I represent consumers in class action litigation against debt collectors, mortgage lenders/servicers, credit reporting bureaus and furnishers of credit information, and other businesses committing unfair or deceptive practices. Often times, my individual client is not the only person to suffer the same wrong so a class action is the appropriate mechanism for relief. I have served as class counsel in actions certified in Illinois, New York, California, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington.

Debt Collection 10%

I assist consumers who are being contacted by debt collectors to know their rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Illinois Collection Agency Act.

Excellent, Professional. Highly Recommend

Stacy helped me resolve an identity theft issue that had a negative impact on my credit and needed a lawsuit to resolve. Throughout the entire process, Stacy was knowledgable, professional, and action-oriented. Her insight on the legal process and financial and credit laws were indispensable in a...ddressing the issue with the large number of parties involved. Stacy is trustworthy and a great communicator, two key characteristics that make an effective lawyer. In the end, the resolution was exactly what I had expected. Thanks to Stacy for delivering a fair and welcome result.

AMAZING ATTORNEY

I was referred to Stacy to assist me with a debt collection suit that stems from 11 yrs ago. I initially reached out to Stacy, not knowing much about her, and by the end of our 1st conversation I knew I was in the best hands possible. From the start, Stacy has exceeded every expectation I've had. Sh...e is brilliant, thorough and incredibly personable and has a way of always helping me stay positive and confident. Stacy jumped in to my case head first, asking nothing from me other than my trust in her....how many attorneys can you say THAT about??? She continually gives 110% to me and my case and keeps me so incredibly well informed every step of the way. Stacy calls, texts and emails to make sure I am in the loop with where we are going and to provide all possible updates and outcomes. She has taken charge and represents herself in such a professional manner making me feel very well taken care of. Stacy has a keen eye and is detail oriented....she doesn't miss a thing! Professionally, I am beyond impressed with her- personally, I’ll say the same! She has a kind heart and a tender soul- I just feel blessed to have her on my side. I cant say enough about how my husband and I have been treated by her! She is a beautiful person inside and out and an AMAZING ATTORNEY!

A Great Outcome to a Bad Experience

Ms. Bardo was professional, proficient, dependable, and amazing to work with. She handled our case with such grace and class. When we first contacted her with our case she began to work on it immediately. It was a difficult case with a well known car dealership. The other side was clearly in the wron...g but was holding out. She stayed in contact with us and kept us updated on the progress. She won us everything we had asked for. The time for the entire thing to be resolved was less then four months. I would not hesitant to recommend her to anyone looking for a great attorney.

Not helpful

I called seeking consultation on what I felt was a fraudulent case resulting in the loss of my car. I felt that Ms. Bardo was pretty dismissive when I was trying to explain the circumstances surrounding why my car was repossessed while my account was in good standing. The questions she asked led me... to believe that she thought she was talking to someone wholikes having cars repossessed left and right just to skirt the law. I am not a con artist and I think Ms. Bardo confused me with the people she has helped in the past. I will not pay someone a retainer to gloss over paperwork that clearly shows the fault of the finance company, then tell me I have no case, which I know I do. It's one thing to tell me I have no case because of lack of evidence, but let's be honest, tell me you don't want to take the case because it a big car company and your fear is you won't win against them. At least I know that can talk to other attorneys about this problem. One thing I will agree with Ms. Bardo on that was made clear: my situation is complicated and the finance company is doing some reprehensible things to cover up their costly error. I will seek out a second opinion on this.

I am truly sorry that you were not satisfied with our telephone call. It's my job to ensure that all prospective clients feel that their situations have been properly addressed and I strive to give accurate, timely, and helpful feedback. I apologize I fell short of that standard when you called. While the vast majority of my client consultations are provided free of charge and I file consumer cases on a contingent basis, there are a few cases where I request an initial consultation fee if there is a particularly complicated fact pattern, multiple years of correspondence, and accounting statements to review. I sincerely appreciate the trust that consumers place in me to assist them during difficult times and I take the decision to accept or reject a case very seriously.
