Consumer Protection 65%

I file suits for consumers who have been the victims of unlawful debt collection practices, consumer fraud, predatory lending, automobile fraud, wrongful repossessions, problematic mortgage foreclosures, incorrect credit reporting, and identity theft.

Class Action 25%

I represent consumers in class action litigation against debt collectors, mortgage lenders/servicers, credit reporting bureaus and furnishers of credit information, and other businesses committing unfair or deceptive practices. Often times, my individual client is not the only person to suffer the same wrong so a class action is the appropriate mechanism for relief. I have served as class counsel in actions certified in Illinois, New York, California, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington.

Debt Collection 10%

I assist consumers who are being contacted by debt collectors to know their rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Illinois Collection Agency Act.

I highly recommend Stacy Bardo!!!

I hired Stacy in late 2017 and have continued to work with her in to 2018. I needed help to organize and make sense of my past due medical debts and other debts affecting my credit. I am a business owner and not knowing how to handle my past debts was holding me back. I carried a lot of shame and ups...et feelings over dealing all my debts. Stacy's kind, knowledgeable, and straight forward approach has totally empowered me to face my debts, and at the same time be fully informed about what my rights are as a consumer. Stacy will tell you the truth and fights for your rights! The two words that best describe Stacy and my experience with her are CONFIDENCE and REASSURANCE! Working with Stacy has been one of the best decisions to invest in myself in my life!

I was in a bad place with no lawyer really trying to take my case saying it's little to nothing they can do for me .So I found Stacy an...d told her my story and she fought for me since day 1 . 2 and a half months later she roslolved my case I'm now debt free .She is truly a miracle worker .Thank You again Stacy -Brandon

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
