Costly Mistakes and Unethical Representation
I hired attorney Whitney Cameron in June 2024 for my divorce case. My ex-husband represented himself, which should have made the process straightforward. Unfortunately, Ms. Cameron failed to uphold the most basic professional and ethical standards, causing me substantial financial harm. In January...
As I am aware of who this client is, I must clarify this is an innaccurate depiction of events. Unfortunately, a marital residence is a part of a marital estate, and therefore the equity in the home is an asset that is part of the "marital pool" and it must be considered when dividing what assets each party is taking. What's more, with this client I not only, as a courtesy, had another attorney confirm the math (and informed her of the same), but also offered several times for her to not go forward on the settlement and to take additional time to consider the offer on the table. While I stand by the agreement was fair and equitable, she also had an opportunity to get a third opinion and refused. Responding to a self represented litigant is work on the case and it does get billed for, though my office and myself are known for our very fair billing practices in Will County. As I repeatedly argued with the self represented litigant on my client's behalf at court, the record for where my loyalty lies would be of public record. What's more, having a self represented litigant does not automatically make a divorce simple, especially since you cannot give the self-represented litigant advice and especially when the parties cannot come to an agreement and/or repeatedly change the agreement. I do wish this person the very best of luck, however.

Post judgment lawyer
I hired Whitney for a few post judgment issues that arose years after my divorce. She was very knowledgeable, quick to respond and always listened to my concerns. She offered her advice in a way that I always felt she had mine and my kids best interest in mind.

Highly recommend!
I first made an appointment with Whitney back in the Spring of 2022. At that time I was unsure of the direction I was going to take. Whitney was patient, encouraging and positve. She was different than the other lawyers with whom I met. Many were pushing paperwork down my throat to fill out while I...

Great Counsel and Happy Client
Whitney supported my husband in a custody/child support battle with his ex-girlfriend regards to there daughter. At the beginning of the process. We were flabbergasted how Illinois law recognizes non-active parents who could be indolent and disinterested in their child’s safety and whereabouts to sha...
