Whitney Cameron

I hired attorney Whitney Cameron in June 2024 for my divorce case. My ex-husband represented himself, which should have made the process straightforward. Unfortunately, Ms. Cameron failed to uphold the most basic professional and ethical standards, causing me substantial financial harm. In January... 2025, Ms. Cameron sent us a draft Marital Settlement Agreement for review. Under the section Retirement and Other Accounts, she initially applied the correct calculation: my ex-husband should first receive his buyout of the marital residence, and the remaining balance would then be divided 50/50. This was accurate and fair. However, because my ex-husband objected and demanded that his buyout be distributed after the 50/50 division, Ms. Cameron inexplicably changed the calculation in his favor. This change would have cost me approximately $100,000. When I confronted her, she reverted the terms back in my favor-only to later change them again. Ultimately, in March 2025, the Final Judgment for Dissolution of Marriage included the incorrect calculation favoring my ex-husband. As a result, I suffered a financial loss of $93,697.55. Throughout this processs, Ms. Cameron repeatedly altered the Marital Settlement Agreement and its calculations, creating confusion and unnecessary back-and-forth. This pattern appeared designed to inflate attorney's fees rather than serve my best interests. To make matters worse, she even billed me for time spent reading and respondind to emails from my self-represented ex-husband. Her conduct represents a serious breach of duty-including loyalty, competence, and advocacy-and falls far short of the standarda expected of an attortey. What should have been a fair and clear resolution became a costly and damaging experience due to her mishandling of my case. I am shairing my experience so that others can make informed decisions before entrusting their case to Ms.Cameron.

I first made an appointment with Whitney back in the Spring of 2022. At that time I was unsure of the direction I was going to take. Whitney was patient, encouraging and positve. She was different than the other lawyers with whom I met. Many were pushing paperwork down my throat to fill out while I... was feeling insecure about my decisions. Whitney answered all of my questions and actually wished my luck with my marriage. In Autumn of 2022, I reached out to her again and hired her for her services and couldn't be more happy! I have heard of other people complaining how they couldn't get ahold of their lawyer, had to go through secretaries and wait days for return phone calls. Whitney was amazing and ALWAYS so prompt returning my messages! She was thorough and had my best interest, first and foremost. She made me feel comfortable and reassured during a difficult time. I would highly recommend her to anyone I know!
