Biography
Ms. Fugett is the founding and managing partner of The Law Offices of Rachel M. Fugett. Ms. Fugett is dedicated to counseling clients on a wide range of family and matrimonial matters. Ms. Fugett graduated cum laude from The John Marshall Law School, in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Fugett received two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards® for earning the highest grade in her Constitutional Law II and Professional Responsibility courses. During law school, Ms. Fugett was a member of the Trial Advocacy and Alternative Dispute Resolution Honors Society, and competed in several mock trial competitions on behalf of her law school, from June 2013 through October of 2014. In June 2014, Ms. Fugett was named one of two champions for the Trial Team Trifecta Mock Trial Competition. In addition to her mock trial accolades, Ms. Fugett was a Staff Editor for The John Marshall Law Review, and published an article concerning presumptive transfers for juveniles in The John Marshall Law Review’s Fall 2014 issue (Volume 48).
Ms. Fugett joined the Women's Divorce & Family Law Group by Haid and Teich, LLP, in April 2014, when she began working as a law clerk for the firm. Prior to her clerkship, Ms. Fugett interned for the Honorable Judge Gillespie in the Circuit Court of Cook County’s Law Division. Ms. Fugett published the following articles with the Honorable Judge Gillespie in The Illinois State Bar Association’s newsletter, Trial Briefs “All That Snow: Barber v. G.J. Partners, Inc.,” and “Stanton v. Rea: the Intersection of the Common Fund Doctrine with Attorneys’ Liens and Medical Provider’s Liens.” Ms. Fugett has worked at several prestigious law firms in Chicago, Illinois and Joliet, Illinois.
