Courtney Mehta graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2011. During law school Courtney spent her summers clerking for a Family Law firm. After passing the bar, Courtney began her career working for Mitchell Law Group in Joliet, Illinois.
In 2016, Courtney joined Henderson Law & Mediation Center, now Henderson & Mehta Law and Mediation Center. At Henderson & Mehta Law & Mediation Center, Courtney concentrates her practice in the areas of Divorce, Separation, Parental Allocation (formerly known as Custody), Guardianship, and Adoption. Courtney is also on the Will County Mediation and Guardian ad Litem lists. She is frequently appointed in those capacities. Courtney is currently a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Will County Bar Association where she serves as the Co-Chair of the Guardian ad Litem Committee. Courtney has presented on a Guardian ad Litem panel and on the Best Interests of the Minor Children.
Courtney is currently a working Mother of two children. She lives in Naperville, Illinois with her husband and children.

Replied last January 17, 2017I’m so sorry that you felt confused by the process. Those that know me, know that I was on Maternity Leave and thereafter moved firms. I did notify all of my client’s directly when I went on Maternity Leave and when I switched firms. I’m not sure why this particular client did not receive notice twice. I do agree that I helped choose the appropriate Guardian ad Litem. I also agree that the appropriate Guardian ad Litem often helps resolve the matter without spending excessive attorney’s fees on litigating. That firm’s practice did not involve two attorneys billing at the same time. If two attorneys worked on a particular matter at the same time, then the attorneys split the time between themselves. This way the client was not disadvantaged, but rather advantaged by having multiple attorneys strategizing about a particular case.
