Joe Larson has represented a wide array of clients, from large multinational corporations and insurance companies to small, start-up businesses and individuals throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. He has experience in various fields of law, including employment discrimination claims, trade secrets and non-compete disputes, personal injury claims, shipper/carrier matters, contract issues, foreclosures, toxic torts, insurance litigation and criminal defense. Joe started the Joseph A. Larson Law Firm PLLC to focus on protecting the rights of individuals and small businesses in employment discrimination, sexual harassment, personal injury, trucking law and other legal matters.
Based in the Twin Cities, Joe is admitted to practice in Minnesota and Wisconsin state and federal courts, as well as the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Minnesota and Wisconsin state bar associations, and the Minnesota chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association. He has served on the boards of those organizations in various capacities over the past several years. Most recently, in 2016, he was elected to serve on the board of the Minnesota chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association. In 2013, he was given an award for his service and betterment of the MSBA New Lawyers Section.
A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Joe earned his Juris Doctor at Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska. While at Creighton, he was a member of the Board of Editors of the Creighton Law Review and a two-year member of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team. His law review article, “Taming the Wild West: An Examination of Private Student Loan Consolidation Companies’ Violation of Section 43(a) of the Lanham Act By Using Trade Names and Logos That Closely Resemble Those Used by the Department of Education,” was published in the Creighton Law Review and selected by the Burton Foundation as one of the top fifteen student written law review articles in the country for 2009. The Burton Awards, in association with the Library of Congress and Law Library of Congress, is a national awards program that recognizes exemplary legal writing. Other honorees of the Burton Foundation in 2009 were Justice Antonin Scalia and screenwriter David E. Kelley.
