Highly Recommend. I have used Tom twice for custody related cases and he is great to work with. He does a great job explaining the process and making sure your expectations for the process/outcome are realistic which is so important. Any lawyer can say they can win, but Tom makes sure you understand what he thinks is realistic and also explains what he can and can't control so you can decide if you want to proceed. A Judge actually commented that Tom was very good at his job recently in a hearing which is a huge compliment in my opinion. I truly believe Tom is the best guy to use, given I am one of the only people I know who has been truly happy with the outcome of their custody case, and the others I know who aren't as happy did not use Tom and had a completely different experience than I had. Tom works hard and gets results. My outcomes were above and beyond what I hoped for/expected which made the process even more satisfying, and Tom setting realistic expectations was a big part in that. He's also a down to earth guy who is easy to talk to, and that helps. No one wants a lawyer who they don't understand or feel at ease talking to!

I found myself in an unfortunate situation after attending a concert in Cedar Rapids where I was charged with simple marijuana possession. Simple is what I thought not being from Iowa or knowing their incredibly tough cannabis laws. Everything from my career to my freedom were on the line and Mr. Viner truly took it seriously and provided me an outcome from the court that couldn't be any better. It was AFTER the fact - years later I found myself going through some extensive background checks to become a licensed cannabis business in Colorado. Due to the late 2000s floods my paperwork had been destroyed at the court house and my records had been expunged from the Iowa computer systems. When Colorado ran my background however the FBI was able to see my jailing record from Cedar Rapids. The State of CO required some kind of hard copy proof that my case had been taken care of and was truly expunged from my record. Mr. Viner and his firm to the rescue! The firm had my records preserved in their off-site storage and were able to send documents to the state on my behalf in about 20 minutes- I was issued my license as a result.
