Biography
Since 1989, I have been licensed by the State Bar of Michigan and have earned a Master Lawyer distinction. In my decades of general practice, I have served thousands of clients.
Among the first-50 attorneys in Michigan to complete the Family Law Certificate program offered by the Institute for Continuing Legal Education in Ann Arbor, MI, I have completed over a thousand divorces from start to finish. Also, I present lectures and seminars to other lawyers and legal professionals on a regular basis. Most recently, I served as the Chair of the Oakland County Bar Association's Family Court Committee.
In addition to family law, I have a robust criminal law practice, representing clients in jury trials and appeals across Michigan. Approved for felony assignments by the Oakland County Circuit Court, and as a former roster attorney for the Michigan Appellate Assigned Counsel System, I know my way around the criminal justice system.
Three Michigan Attorneys General [Cox, Schuette and Nessel] have appointed me to serve as a Special Assistant Attorney General prosecuting delinquent child support payors. I also serve Oakland County as a Public Administrator. These appointments have provided extensive family law, probate and elder law experience as a professional fiduciary in thousands of cases.
My appellate docket has placed me before the Michigan Supreme Court, Mich Court of Appeals, and the U S Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. Serving 2-years as a pre-hearing attorney for the Mich Court of Appeals was my 1st job out of law school, followed by another 5-years in the appellate section of Plunkett & Cooney, one of Michigan’s largest private law firms.
For 8-years in the middle of my career, I was an Asst Professor and Director of Legal Studies at the Univ of Detroit Mercy. The UDM Law Review published my article on civil rights claims in the law enforcement seizure context. As a professor of legal studies, I trained paralegals in all aspects of assisting attorneys in private practice, publishing a comprehensive article on this subject in the Mich Bar Journal.

Confidentiality and Non-compete Agreement
Tim was very responsive and helpful navigating thru the various provisions of the non compete agreement I signed 14 yrs ago. Navigating the legal covenants and conditions are very confusing and difficult to understand. Tim provided the clarity needed to make an informed professional decision.

Appalling. Took my money then removed himself as council.
Mr. Flynn quoted me $1,500 earlier this year to bring a desired result. I gave him $2,000 at our first and only meeting. Replied last August 01, 2018While it is always unfortunate to read one-star reviews, to the extent they contain the proverbial "kernel of truth", we take them to heart and try to learn from a former client's comments. This review has many misstatements but it is true that our relationship with this client soured early, and ended badly. We take pride in trying to solve tough legal problems for our clients. In this case, what we were asked to repair was beyond repair. In hindsight, we should have declined the case entirely. Instead, we took the case and when our attorney-client relationship began to break down, we prepared the necessary paperwork to get off the case. Essentially, we had to fire our client. When doing so, we were careful to communicate all necessary information to the client. Matters that proceed to the family court are always stressful thus, it is a difficult industry in which to maintain client satisfaction. We do our best to achieve this satisfaction and due to our constant efforts, we have a mostly-satisfied clientele. As this review demonstrates, however, we fall short in some cases. For our part, we will reach out to this person and attempt to make it right.
