Great Lawyer !!!
Mr. Foley was my attorney in a very difficult custody dispute. Mr. Foley was an excellent negotiator and a fantastic orator in Court. The Judges listened to his arguments. He was able to quickly and effectively explain my rights and the possible solutions. I highly recommend Mr. Foley as an attorney!!!

I retained John R. Foley and his son Patrick Foley in early 2014 after leaving another attorney. It was like a light was turned on, and the confusion ended there. Mr. Foley explained everything to me in detail, but with simple, understandable explanations. He took over and got aggressive; not arrogant or unfriendly, just aggressive. I went from being "on the ropes" with every-other-weekend, 2 overnights, to nearly 50/50 time with my children. We prepared for trial and showed up ready, my ex caved the morning of trial. I could not be more pleased with my representation.

The Best Divorce Attorney in Michigan!
I was married for 23 years. My ex and I have 3 children. My wife and I both work long hours; but I naively believed that my marriage was not just OK, but going great. I was blindsided when she served me with divorce papers. In hindsight, I had me head in the sand. I came home from work to find the locks changed, and my belongings on the driveway. A good friend recommended John, because he was the opposing attorney against him in his own divorce! John slowly but surely changed the tide of the case. John got the judge to revoke the "emergency" (based on lies) orders that she had entered removing me from the house, and forcing me to continue paying for everything. Ultimately, she was removed from the house. When John finished investigating her, and we confronted her and her attorney with the evidence of her multiple affairs, I was awarded physical custody and the majority of parenting time. Her request for me to pay for attorneys and to pay her spousal support were both denied.

Awesome Legal Team
John and his team were always an email or phone call away. The communication about the case was superior. I felt comfortable how the case was handled and how it ended. I would use his firm again and would suggest anyone else to as well.

Smart, Caring and Aggressive Attorney

Highly Recommended!
I strongly recommend John Foley to friends and family who need an attorney for family law matters. John came highly recommended by my own friends, and I hired him to replace the attorney I did have. For as heartwrenching as the matter was, I could not have asked for a more pleasant and undertanding attorney. John used his knowledge, and experience to clean up the mess created by my first attorney. Not only did John clean up the mess, he was able to control the damage that had been done, he was able to ultimatley get me exactly what I had wanted. My case was very emotionally exhausing, but John and his staff were sensitive, caring, and gave me solid professional guidance. John's billing was detailed and fair, and he explained everything to me throughout the process, so I never felt in the dark. I am very happy to have had John fighting on my team. I highly recommend him.

Best attorney ever
John handled my divorce case. He was the best in every aspect. An advocate for fathers rights. Having John in my corner helped me get full custody of my 3 children. Not an easy task in today's courts

Dealing with attorneys is not easy, but dealing with John Foley was!
Obviously, when dealing with a divorce, most of the time (hopefully), it's the first time you have to deal with an attorney. Mr. Foley made the experience as comfortable as possible. He was great with explaining the process to me and gave me realistic expectations. He took my calls and called me back when he was not available and I had to leave a message. Mr. Foley truly had my best interest in mind the whole time. And, it was very important to me that when I called or met him in court, he knew my case and didn't treat me like "just another client". Thank you, Mr. Foley!

Highly Recommended!
I highly recommend Mr. Foley. He represented me in my divorce action. He kept me informed of every thing going on in my case from the beginning to the end. Whenever I called, which was often, he always took the time to answer my questions, which were many! He was forthright when I was being unreasonable and when we were in court he fought for me and we were able to amicably settle my case.

A Good man and a fine attorney....
Mr. Foley was instrumental in my son retaining custody of his two children. He was caring and concerned about the well being of the children. He was always mindful of their best interests. When we were only able to pay small amounts on the bill, Mr. Foley remained patient until it was finally paid off. He was able to relieve some of our stress and we are pleased with the job he did for our family.

Difficult time with a difficult situation
Unfortunately, John did not seem to have the time nor the discipline necessary to organize, follow up and communicate with me. Though perhaps well meaning and obviously experienced, he approached my case as if I do this all the time and understand the process and next steps involved in a divorce settlement. He enjoyed talking about his life and his experience and pontificating about his other cases in lieu of listening and taking notes on the one in front of him. This lead to multiple conversations about the same topics...all billable. Expect to have to call, email and follow up frequently to know where you stand, what the next steps entail and how things are progressing...And expect to pay for his time responding. John was not prepared, drafted incomplete and erroneous documents multiple times (billable as well)...all the way to the day of my settlement where, unable to attend, he inadvertently forgot to draft and send important documents needed to finalize the divorce. His admin staff is wonderful and did their best to assist...Divorce is difficult enough. Find an attentive attorney willing to take the time and make the effort to help guide you through it.

Foley will not follow through and settles his way disreguarding what the seperated clients want
Mr Foley dealt with my divorce and even thou i had no wrong doing my ex was a femsle and FYoC was gonna give custody to my unstable, bi polar ex. After settling future contact with him was quick even after paying his retainer fee of $1,500. Even after a 30 minute phone call where we did not have the proper paperwork or divorce decree even thou he finslized it months prior i paid and have received no response 5 months after having a hearing on custody. He praised s cd and prompt paperwork to the court but Heidi proclaims he will call me back even thou its now October and my last communication was June. 2013

Would give a zero if I could.
In his words, Mr. Foley said my divorce settlement was the worst he’d ever seen”. Well, he was my attorney and I expected that he would get me the best settlement possible. Obviously to me, the opposing counsel did the exemplary job. Mr. Foley did not take the time to walk me through the divorce settlement to explain all the terms, but made sure he took the time to send me his bills in a timely fashion.

DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN
This lawyer promised me he was going to get me the child support I deserved because my daughters father was lying about his income. When my support recommendation was made and was based on a false income my ex was reporting, I had 21 days to object. It was a couple days before the 21 days were up and he said the court would investigate his income on their own, that I didn't need to file objections. Thankfully, I found another lawyer that told me the truth that the court would never investigate that on their own. Prior to me firing him I mentioned that we would probably have to do a deposition and he told me I couldn't afford that and he knew how much money I made. I thought that was rude because I always paid him promptly. I told him I had money and people to help me out, but he instead degraded me by the previously mentioned comment.

Divorce serices
I never felt like he did anything for me. I lost every point of discussion and it cost me well over $15,000 for his services. You can do what he did and save thousands or get a younger more aggressive lawyer,
