John R. Foley

In my experience, there were multiple clerical errors in my case documents, including incorrect Social Security numbers and misspelled or incorrect names. I was billed for time spent correcting these issues, which I found concerning. Additionally, my attorney did not attend the first scheduled divorc...e conference. Based on these events, I was dissatisfied with the representation I received.

John Foley mediated my divorce case. He was compassionate and very knowledgeable. On several points, he managed to get me more than I was willing to settle for, and spent a great deal of time making sure that we had all of the information we needed (some of which the other attorney had refused to gi...ve to my attorney before the mediation), before we agreed to a final settlement. In his words, Mr. Foley said my divorce settlement was the worst he’d ever seen”. Well, he was my attorney and I expected that he would get me the best settlement possible. Obviously to me, the opposing counsel did the exemplary job. Mr. Foley did not take the time to walk me through the divorce set...tlement to explain all the terms, but made sure he took the time to send me his bills in a timely fashion.

I retained John R. Foley and his son Patrick Foley in early 2014 after leaving another attorney. It was like a light was turned on, and the confusion ended there. Mr. Foley explained everything to me in detail, but with simple, understandable explanations. He took over and got aggressive; not arrogan...t or unfriendly, just aggressive. I went from being "on the ropes" with every-other-weekend, 2 overnights, to nearly 50/50 time with my children. We prepared for trial and showed up ready, my ex caved the morning of trial. I could not be more pleased with my representation.

I was married for 23 years. My ex and I have 3 children. My wife and I both work long hours; but I naively believed that my marriage was not just OK, but going great. When John finished investigating her, and we confronted her and her attorney with the evidence of her multiple affairs, I was awarded physical custody and the majority of parenting time. Her request for me to pay for attorneys and to pay her spousal support were both denied.
