Child Custody 16%

If you are getting divorced and have children, part of the divorce agreement will involve determining where and with whom the children will live. A child custody lawyer can help you negotiate custody, either by agreement or in court. The custodial parent (the one the child lives with) earns the legal right to make decisions regarding the child's lifestyle, welfare, and education. Some parents opt for joint custody.

Child Support 12%

If you are a parent and you divorce, the parent the child lives with often receives money (child support) from the parent no longer living with the child. Unlike alimony, which is paid to maintain an ex-spouse's lifestyle, child support pays for the child's physical, emotional, and educational needs. A child support lawyer can help parents negotiate and calculate child support, either by agreement or in court. While national guidelines to calculate child support amounts exist, you or the judge m

If you are suspected of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you may be arrested for DUI (driving under the influence). Depending on the state, the specific crime is also called DWI (driving while intoxicated), OUI (operating under the influence), or OWI (operating while intoxicated). Domestic Violence 5%

If you are involved in a domestic violence case, you may want to hire an experienced domestic violence (DV) lawyer. A DV attorney can help protect you if you or your family have been the victim of domestic violence. An attorney can file restraining orders and make changes to your child custody agreement in order to protect you and your family. Conversely, if you have been accused of physically or mentally threatening someone close to you (e.g., a family member, boyfriend, girlfriend, or partner)

Landlord tenant law concerns landlord and tenants' rights and responsibilities. Because the apartment you rent is your own personal space, the law places many limits on landlords' activities. For example, if a landlord tries to make you move without giving you enough notice, or ignores a rat infestation in your apartment, a landlord / tenant lawyer knows what options you have as a tenant. On the other hand, a landlord / tenant lawyer also helps landlords who have tenants breaking rules, such as

If the police give you a ticket for violating traffic laws (quite often for speeding), you may require the services of a traffic ticket lawyer (sometimes called a speeding ticket lawyer) to help you through traffic court. Would recommend him to everyone.

Held my hand throughout the divorce. Adviced me what to do and not do. Very professional. Always felt like he was my friend not just a lawyer I hired.

First Class Service

My experience with Gary was second to none. During a stressful period of time, he was always patient and professional. His skill set was excellent and the pricing was fair and transparent. He is definitely in a class of his own.

If you want a good and very reliable real estate lawyer higher Gary.

I live out of state and my home attorney referred me to Gary Gardner. I was able to ask Gary some questions that concerned a real estate issue with my ex husband that passed and left me with our home and a lot of unresolved issues from our divorce over ownership of the house and mortgages that were... now my responsibility. Gary was very helpful and went above and beyond to help me understand what had to be done. I really appreciate that he was able to help me without hiring him. I would trust him and highly recommend him. Thank you again, Gary.

Divorce, custody, property consult

Consulted with Gary about a complex, divorce, custody, and property dispute. Gary was extremely knowledgeable. He asked incisive questions and pointed me in the right direction with my current representation on pathways forward. Highly recommend Gary based on a brief but encouraging interaction. And ...would readily work with him again — ideally under less trying circumstances.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
