Not just a great Lawyer, but an old school great man.

Before I retained Paul, I already had an attorney that was rated highly and wasn't cheap. I had a pretty tough case, being accused of domestic battery on my teenage daughter. It was totally false btw. But that first attorney didn't care what I had to say and didn't believe me at all. After a few mont...hs and a couple thousand dollars, the best he could do was 2 years house arrest. I had to make the tough choice and take my chances In finding another lawyer. I found Paul's card that day on the way home from court. He called me back the next day and from that first conversation, I knew that God had sent Paul my way. He trusted in me and kept me calm and helped guide me through the long process. I told him I would not plea to something that I did not do. Even after a year and a half, he never gave up on the case. I trusted in him because I felt he trusted in me. Today he contacted me and gave me the best news I've had since my daughter was born. All charges dropped except for one minor thing. Paul has almost literally saved my life. If anyone has any doubts about him, just give him a chance and meet him. He will fight till the end for his clients. I will refer all I can to him. He's a good man. Trust him. I did. And I now have my family back. My life back. God bless you Paul. Thank you.

Paul Stanko superlawyer!

I first contacted Paul Stanko out of concern about what I considered to be police harassment. I live in a small town and everyone, including the cops, knows where I live, what I drive, and who my friends are. Unfortunately, some of my friends have been in trouble before, and guilt by association was ...my main problem. His advice when I first contacted him was very helpful, and free. He said I may not need a lawyer at all, but feel free to contact him if I did. Months later, police came to my house for what Paul told me is called a "knock and talk". I foolishly let them in and spoke to them before calling Paul back. They basically threatened me with continued surveillance if I didn't become a snitch against my friends. When they left, I called Paul in a panic. He said not to worry, he would take care of it. I retained Paul at once, he contacted the detectives who had been harassing me, and I never heard from them again!

3rd DUI Offense

I reached out to Attorney Stanko after some extensive research, when I was charged with my 3rd OWI. I have to say, I used another attorney with my first two, and based SOLELY on online reviews, not knowing this man at all, I decided to put my trust in him regarding my case. As I am not proud to say I... even had to ever deal with a 3rd DUI, the knowledge that Attorney Stanko had for me was unprecedented to any attorney I had reached out to in the past. He was able (and so confident, and so... understanding..) to get my 3rd case completely DISMISSED, and I have to attribute it solely to his ridiculously extensive knowledge of Indiana Law.. we used a Supreme Court ruling, which is just not knowledge others would have gone with in this matter. I can’t recommend him highly enough! I would also like to state that he has been in touch with me throughout the entire process, never left me “in the dark” so to speak... he is definitely a man that prides what he does, and does it so well. Recommended 100%... 100%!

I know in your case that getting the charges dismissed took a great deal of patience on both of our parts. I also know the outcome was the best we could ever have hoped for.

0 Stars if I could

My wife hired Paul and paid him $1,500 when I was arrested and charged with public intox and resisting arrest. While I was in jail (St Joe County Jail borders on inhumane treatment, by the way) waiting to go before the judge Paul dealt with my wife and spoke to her a couple of times. I went before th...e judge after spending about 40 hours in an entirely concrete room and my charges were quickly and summarily dismissed through no work on Paul's part. He simply handed the judge some papers and was done. Probably the easiest $1,500 someone has ever made. I then contacted Paul and asked him to help me with getting the charges expunged. He agreed to help me and sent me the paperwork. I filled out what I could but there was some info that I did not have and needed from Paul. He told me to send him the forms and he would take care of it. After about a week of waiting to hear back from him, I reached back out. No response. Another week or so went by. No response. This happened for about a month or so and I decided to stop contacting him. The paperwork was never filled out and my charges have not been dropped. Paul had made his $1,500 off me for doing nothing. One would think that for a fee like that he would include helping his clients after the charges are dismissed. He even agreed to help me and then just stopped responding. Don't use Paul's services. He's just out to get his and doesn't care about his clients.

This person seems to be complaining about jail conditions (which I have no control over), then about getting his charges dismissed and getting him released. Usually a client is elated to have his charges dismissed. I was not retained, or paid, to file an expungement petition. I got the charges dismissed and the client released from jail, a perfect result for any reasonable client.

Golden Legal Advice

My 17 yr old dgtr is in a serious legal situation, so I reached out to Paul Stanko. He doesn't handle juvenile cases himself but highly recommended another Attorney group. Paul and I have communicated several times over the course of two days, and he has given us golden advice along with direction. I... know Paul will check on us to see how the case is going, he has shown me that he goes above and beyond, even for non clients. I pray I never need him, never been in trouble in my life, but I highly recommend him!

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2006.

Public Reprimand issued in IN, 2006

updated on 02/13/2024

A reprimand means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State gives the lawyer a public reprimand in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior. Details of the infraction are made part of the public record.

Paul’s comment:

“Over 20 years ago, when I had significant but temporary health issues, including sinus surgery and a mini-stroke, a couple of administrative details were missed on 2 cases (out of the many hundreds I handle on a yearly basis). Although the date of disposition is 2006, the dates of the supposed transgressions were in 2004 or earlier. ALSO, my temporary health issues were SPECIFICALLY recognized in the court's order.”
