If you are looking for a family law attorney you should stop reading this and hire her immediately. If you are still reading this, I’ll continue….. There aren’t enough stars to give her. Kate is incredible! I would give her a hundred if I could. She is highly skilled, extremely professional, ...very empathetic, and incredibly personable all at the same time. She represented me in a custody case which took roughly a year and a half to conclude. During that time she faced two sets of opposing council. In court, she always came off as the smartest attorney in the room. She was always better prepared, better organized, more knowledgeable about the case, and by far quicker than her opposing council. Her lines of questioning were incredibly effective. She repeatedly caught opposing witnesses contradicting their own testimony. It is worth hiring her just to watch her in court. Kate is also great outside of the courtroom. From the start I felt that she was personally vested in my case. There were many high conflict situations in which she stepped in and fought tooth and nail to ensure that I wasn’t denied any rights as a parent or time with my daughter while the case was still pending. Kate is also a great person. The staff of Flood and Lewis is just as great as Kate is! She and everyone in her office were incredibly friendly and empathetic throughout the entire process. I had a family member pass away during the case and I was shocked when a flower arrangement and condolences where delivered to my front door from the entire staff at Flood and Lewis. My wife and I also received a congratulatory care package after my wife gave birth to my second daughter during the case. It felt like I hired family to represent me. I also have to call attention to Lisa, the Flood and Lewis office manager. I’d hire Kate again just to work with Lisa. She is amazing. She always made sure that I was informed and that my concerns were addressed quickly. I won’t go into specifics because there were too many instances, but saying that she went the extra mile during my case would be a massive understatement. My custody case concluded with an overwhelmingly one-sided decision in my favor. Obviously the facts and circumstances of any case will vary. Not every case can or should result in a landslide victory; however, there is no doubt in my mind that Kate is the best choice that you can possibly make to optimize the outcome of your case. You should hire her and see for yourself. She’s the best! Thank you Kate!

Katherine (Kate) was fantastic from the start, at what was at a very difficult time in my life with several life changing events going on at the same time. As everyone knows divorce can be an incredibly stressful time. My other two life events were equally as stressful. There were a couple of ways... to make things less stressful for me, and the most important was maintaining as much parenting time as possible with my children. I have two tween boys and I have worked hard to provide for the family my entire life. At the same time their mother was a primary care giver. Her counselor was trying to say that because of this fact I was “less” likely to provide good parenting skills. As you can imagine I was devastated by this and saw no reason why I was being punished for my role in the family dynamic. Kate was very understanding of my situation. She was able to relate common experiences to mine which put me at ease immediately. During this time I was a mess and quite confused about what I needed to do. She gave me fantastic advice on how to manage the process. She kept me calm as I tend to get and be very emotional. She also set very real and accurate expectations on what the outcomes could be in best and worst case scenario’s. During the mediation process she allowed me to express my concerns and fought hard to protect my interests. Ultimately no-one wins in these situations, but having the peace of mind that things were being handled by Kate let me focus on creating a “new normal” for myself. That included housing considerations, parenting time, school decisions as well as making good personal choices that would help with more parenting time. I would have never understood everything I needed to do without her counsel. I also had the opportunity to witness Kate as a litigator. She did an excellent job preparing material for examination at our initial trial. She was very thorough and accomplished the goals we set out to. Kate Flood is hands-down an amazing, effective lawyer. She is professional, highly competent, and accessible. Kate took time to understand what my needs and goals were with custody and financial matters. She then worked really hard to make them happen. My ex introduced a challenging piece of evidence... right before a preliminary hearing and Kate reacted immediately, had a strategy, and averted what could have been a bad situation for me. She is legally agile and knows the court system. She was compassionate yet candid throughout the process. Kate and her wonderful staff kept me informed on all steps of the process and offered support when needed. I am still currently working with Kate, but so far she has been wonderful! I've had issues with my ex following thru on things that were decided in our divorce 2 years ago. She has been very helpful in getting these issues dealt with. She is very busy (because she is so good) and it does sometimes ta...ke time to hear back, but she or one of her staff get always gets back to me with helpful information on how we are moving forward. I am a person who has a lot of questions and she and her office have been very attentive and have never seemed bothered or anything even when I have to call or email numerous times. When you speak to Kate you can tell she enjoys her job and truly cares about the clients she chooses to work with. I believe that is what really makes her stand out above the rest. I've been working with her for almost a year now and I really have nothing negative to say. I have and would continue to recommend her to anyone who might need an attorney! She is a very positive person and always does her best to be upfront and honest if there are any situations that can't be resolved or whatever the issue might be.
