Ambiguous sign-up terms and no follow up afterwards

I have to start this review by saying that I won my DUI case and having a lawyer was very convenient. However, this win is primarily because of MY innocence and MY persistence. When reaching out to Miranda and her employer, Suhre & Associates, I had never been in trouble with the law and was very ...nervous about receiving an unwarranted OVI ticket. After a consultation, there was a price mentioned ($3,500) which sounded like the full price of the services. I hired Miranda for her services and paid the invoice. A few months later, after an initial court hearing, there was another invoice sent for an additional $2,500 for the continuation of her services. This was not mentioned in our consultation, so naming a price to get hired and then bumping it up once the services started is shady and not transparent. I didn’t have any other option and luckily I had been saving up, so I emptied my savings account to pay the rest. Fast forward a couple of months, I was given a plea bargain that would require me to take some classes and have a designation on my license. Knowing my innocence, I refused the bargain and continued the case in court. A couple more months later, we showed up for the date of the case before it was supposed to go to a trial. Luckily it never got to a trial. That’s because of my persistence. The prosecutor offered another plea bargain on that final case day, to which Miranda STRONGLY suggested I take. Again, I knew my innocence, so I decided against accepting the bargain, which she informed me would push this case to a trial. I was all in to prove my innocence at this point. We entered the court room and after a brief conversation, the judge dismissed my case. After leaving the court room in awe, Miranda questioned, “what just happened?”. Me not going to jail was considered a win for Miranda, but me not getting in trouble at all is what I considered a win for the case. If I had accepted the plea bargain either of the two times, I’d have more to deal with, but thankfully, I was persistent in determining my innocence. After the case, I asked how to get my license back and how I might be able to get the $6,000 back that I spent on her services. She mentioned she’d help me through it but I was never assisted. I didn’t have a license for at least 8 months after the case, while living in Denver. I also asked how I might go about suing the officer/city for wrongfully convicting me of a crime and leaving me without a license for over a year, to which she mentioned there’s “a conflict of interest”. I’m happy that I was able to win this case, but I don’t believe Miranda or Suhre & Associates was the reason for it. Lack of transparency at the beginning, rough advice in the middle, and terrible follow-up at the end results in me giving a two-star review. If Joe Suhre or Miranda Holbrook could get me in touch with a lawyer that doesn’t have a conflict of interest with the city or the officer involved, and can help me get the $6,000 that I HAD to spend in order to prove my innocence, I’d absolutely consider amending this review.

4 Cases in Total Dismissed

If you are seeking legal help in the Ohio area, I highly recommend Suhre & Associates. Working with another party Miranda oversaw the outcome of two defendants with a total of 4 dismissals in two counties. She listens when you speak and tries her absolute hardest to get the best outcome possible for ...her clients.
