I am so thankful I found Ed Ahlers to help me get my Long Term Disability Benefits reinstated. He met with me and listened and answered my questions. His knowledge and professionalism assured me to proceed when I had been dissuaded by the insurer that I could not overturn their judgement. He was not only able to get my appeal open but also ended with a positive outcome in a very quick and timely manner. I had taken out a private disability policy to protect me from the situation I find myself in. Thank you for helping me fight for my benefits.

I contacted Mr. Ahlers after my long term disability insurer stopped my benefits stating that I no longer met their definition of "disabled" after two years, which was basically that if you can do "anything for 40 hours a week" you do not qualify. Mr. Ahlers put me in touch with the proper folks to test and evaluate me and put together the documents needed to contest that claim. After submitting it, the insurer promptly restored my benefits, including the back payments. Mr. Ahlers did a wonderful job explaining what we needed to do, and addresssing my feels and concerns along the way. I would have no issues with hiring him again, or referring my friends or family to his care.

We received a positive outcome in our disability appeal due to Mr. Ahler's hard work. From the start, he took the time to listen and learn about my wife's disability. He was thorough and communicated with her throughout the entire process. He cares about his clients and works hard on their behalf. We highly recommend Mr. Ahlers!

I've known Mr. Ahlers for 10 years know on a professional level and more recently as a client. Being a former office manager I met Ed in the fall of 2006 when he referred a Bwc patient to the multi- disciplinary medical practice where I worked. Over the years I've watched Mr Ahlers fight For, and win, the majority of the hearings for his clients and our patients. He is extremely knowledgeable, supportive, and empathetic to those he represents. His staff, and more importantly Ed, go above and beyond in making certain that they have everything necessary to fight denials or get patients the necessary treatments or financial support they need from the BWC, personal injury, and social security disability.
As a client on two separate occasions Ed made the processes easy and eased my fears and concerns. The 1st time was over an extended warranty on my vehicle. The insurance company denied our claim for services when our motor blew stating we did not follow the guidelines set forth in our contract. I got all the necessary documents and notes regarding the situation to Ed and in an extremely short period of time they overturned their denial and we received the appropriate compensation for the repairs.
Over the past 6 years I've experienced numerous disabling conditions involving my low back, neck and most recently my hip. I worked for my pain management physician, have undergone numerous surgical procedures, and did many injections, physical therapy treatments, chiropractic treatment and massage therapy to no avail. My conditions continued to worsen. My employer made an extensive amount of accommodation for me as I want to work but eventually the pain got too extreme and I was regularly missing work, going in late or leaving early. Making the decision to file for Social Security disability was one of the most difficult decisions I've ever made. Ed made sure that all the necessary documents, expert proof from my physicians, personal references from friends, colleagues, and former employers was received and supportive of my claim. Being a mother of 5 children this was a very stressful period for me and my family as I've always been the primary income as I have a degree in business management. Ed was always confident my case would be resolved in my favor. He walked me through the parts of the process I didn't have much knowledge in and reassured me when my fears would overwhelm me as he is well aware I can no longer be employed. He, and his great staff, took care of everything they needed to and let me know what I needed to take care of in plenty of time since he understands chronic pain interferes with every aspect of a person's life including timely completing tasks as simple as making sure the reference letters are complete and turned in prior to the hearing date and any additional documents from medical providers are completed or additional diagnostic tests ordered get performed. Many times with chronic medical conditions and pain remembering to do the simplest tasks (making phone calls, emailing references to get letters, getting diagnostic tests completed) are difficult as the pain attempts to take all Energy and attention due to the severity. When it came time for my hearing I was extremely anxious about it and Ed once again reassured me that everything would be ok and I have the medical conditions and supportive testimony to meet the SSDI requirements.
He met me prior to my hearing to call my fears and go over the process again, calmed my fears and let me know to be myself and answer the judges questions as completely and honestly as possible.
A month later I received my letter stating the decision was made in my favor. The process still wasn't complete and Ed stayed in regular contact with me regarding the next steps and getting my back pay, Medicare and the additional payments for my minor children. In a professional and personal situation I'd refer to Ed as I've seen his results. Thanks

I was kept updated on the case and in many instances I never had to ask for updates. He always explained the different routes that we could take and guided me in making the optimal decision. He was very approachable and understanding of the many emotions that I experienced after my accident.

A medical provider referred me to Mr. Ahlers. The provider explained that Mr. Ahlers develops a relationship with providers who are part of your care. I found this to be very true. Mr. Ahlers covered every angle to make the best case for my living with epilepsy. He took the time to learn about the complications of medical care required for those who live with epilepsy. During the waiting period he maintained professional communication and updates on the case.
My case was further complicated because a decision was ruled unfavorably while living in another state. After returning to Ohio, I was able to get the proper medical care that allowed me to return to work .
Mr. Ahlers requested that the judge would allow for the 2 year period without work and a nine (9) month extension of benefits since I returned to work.
The judge did allow for the two-year period, but denied the nine month extension. Nevertheless, I highly recommend Mr. Ahlers as an attorney because he is very approachable and makes every effort to tackle a tough disorder such as epilepsy.

Edward successfully represented my interests in a case of suspension of Long Term Disability benefits by a private insurance company. At our first meeting Ed listened intently and took several pages of notes to understand the facts and my concerns. My appeal was by no means a sure thing, but Ed saw the potential for a settlement and agreed to move forward. After that meeting he promptly contacted the insurance company, established a point of contact and worked with them to set dates for the submission of supporting documents. Throughout the process I was kept informed by letter, email and verbal communications. He was always prompt to respond to my queries. Ed was very thorough. To support the appeal, he prepared insightful questionnaires which he asked my doctors to complete. He also employed the services of a vocational expert who completed a vocational assessment and report. I would highly recommend Mr. Edward Ahlers in cases of claims for disability. He is knowledgeable, experienced, professional, thorough and personable. I would recommend him to my family and friends.

My husband had a very complicated disability situation, and many attorneys were not willing to take on his case. Not only did Mr. Ahlers take Darin's case, he consistently exceeded our expectations. Tragically, my husband passed away exactly 3 weeks after he received his favorable disability decision. Mr. Ahlers continued to work with me to ensure that my husband's back settlement was paid to me so that I could cover the costs of his burial. At no time did I ever feel as though we were merely a revenue source for Mr. Ahlers. He even phoned me on Christmas Eve to offer his condolences. He is knowledgeable, personable and tenacious. If you want an attorney willing to go the extra mile in order to see that your needs are met, I would most definitely make Mr. Ahlers your first and only phone call.

In 2012, I answered a TV ad for a firm stating that they specialized in social security disability. They did not. They pulled the bait and switch on me. The firm that I got stuck with refused to meet me. In 2014, six weeks before my court date, they pulled out, leaving me helpless.
I contacted Edward Ahlers, who was highly recommended. Not only did he meet me in person, he was always available to talk to on the telephone. Ed got an extension and helped me get prepared for the hearing. It felt good to have someone who believed in me and that I believed in.
Ed helped me win my case and stayed with me until EVERYTHING was resolved. I feel that I not only had the best lawyer possible, I always gained a new friend. I would not hesitate to recommend him (in fact, I already did). I cannot give enough praise for this man! He was a life saver!

Was dedicated to my case for almost two years and stayed in contact and kept me informed the whole way through. Very knowledgeable of social security and the whole process. I would definitely use him again.
