When I did an online search for the top-rated disability lawyer in Ohio, Ed Ahlers's name came up under the heading of being a SUPER Lawyer. It is true. That is exactly what he did. He tackled one of the largest transportation carriers with their multiple lawyers, who were attempting to defraud me of... my company disability insurance after I was initially approved for it. They didn't respect his experience and ability to know the laws until he began communicating to them regarding the legalities of the situation, and that a lawsuit would be next if not resolved. Of course, it was resolved. They would have lost. Ed is knowledgeable and professional. He is persistent in getting every case resolved. He guided me on the medical information that I would need to collect from my primary care physician and my pulmonologist concerning my updated medical condition. In addition to that, he advised me that a Functional Capacity Evaluation and a Vocational Assessment Report would be extremely helpful in my appeal. Mr. Ahlers filed all the necessary paperwork to the insurance company , including a lengthy and very professional letter explaining why their decision should be reversed and my benefits reinstated immediately . Mr Ahlers and his assistant Barb, who is very pleasant, professional and knowledgeable, kept me updated at all times and responded immediately to my phone calls , text messages and e-mails. Upon filing my appeal Ed called to let me know the insurance company had 45 days to review and respond . He called me two weeks later to give me the awesome news that the insurance company had contacted him to let him know that after reviewing the documents he had sent, they agreed my benefits would be re-instated.
