Short and long term disability claims can be difficult to pursue. Insurance companies love to take in the premiums but they don't like to pay out benefits. An experienced and aggresive attorney who will build your appeal can make all the difference.

Social security disability $ short term disability

Ed Alers recovered 5 months back pay for my short term disability owed to me from work. Took 1 month to get payed with no stress. Then he advised me to file online for ssi while I was being treated.. this surprised me. So I took his advise and filed.. 10 months later and many procedures and 5 Dr....s later I got a denial letter. I called Mr Alers and sent him the letter and told him I was ready to file because I had alot of health issues... he started in Sept 2024 e sign consent forms, gave him all my patient portal log ins.. afterwards the only thing I did for 4 months was email him the dates of each office visit.. he would log in and email ss all Dr notes and procedures etc...Jan 2, 2025. 4 months I got an acceptance email from social security. I didn't have to see their lawyer, no court, no judge. I'm so grateful and in aw of the kindness Ed Ahlers and his team gave me. Thank you for everything Debbie R.

Excellent Lawyer & Wonderful Person

We were referred to Ed thru another person. What an amazing decision. Ed was clear and upfront about how his practice operated & what we should expect thru the process. He always kept us informed & would answer any questions quickly. We felt Ed treated us as people first & clients second. Even h...is admin (Barb) operates in the same fashion. We are so happy we found Ed to help us thru a very confusing process.

Excellence, compassion and integrity!

From our very first contact to the conclusion of my husband's disability case, Ed Ahlers exceeded my expectations! The disability process can be so confusing, frustrating – not to mention protracted, but from the outset, Ed explained things in detail and was always quickly responsive when we reached... out to him. His skills, savvy, and kindness (a too rare combination) are remarkable, and he was invariably candid, patient, and sincere during every phase of the process. Mr. Ahlers is truly a man of integrity and character. He made no promises as to the outcome but fought tooth and nail at every step. Ultimately, because of Ed’s expertise and hard work, our case had a favorable outcome. But perhaps just as important, both my husband and I felt validated and respected by Ed throughout his handling of the case. And his assistant Barb is also amazing and helpful! I truly cannot recommend Mr. Ahlers highly enough!

Couldn't Have Done It Without Him

Ed took my case when no one else would touch it due to how far along it was and how badly my previous lawyer had mishandled it. He saw a miscarriage of justice and truly embodied the purpose of his profession by fighting for the little guy. Thanks to Ed, I went from wholly up a creek to victorious! ... Not only was every move he made handled with flawless talent, he was also there on a (100% appropriate) personal level for when I was struggling with any aspect of my life. Extra bonus points for his infinite patience with my mental illnesses occasionally preventing me from being concise and, at times, even entirely intelligible, in our communications. I had a tendency to ramble excessively in emails to where my point was unclear and Ed was never fazed, and very reassuring when I realized I had done it. I cannot possibly list enough glowing remarks to properly express my gratitude and admiration. 'Thank you' doesn't begin to cover how much I appreciate his work!

Phenomenal Lawyer & Support Staff (Ed Ahlers & Barb Wright)

I passionately recommend the firm of Crowley Ahlers & Roth Co LPA and Ed Ahlers, specifically. When I was at my life's all-time low, with severe, debilitating mental and physical health problems that completely impeded my ability to work, I happened upon Ed Ahlers, Esq and the firm of Crowley, Ahl...ers and Roth. I cannot remember exactly how I discovered the fantastic lawyer who is Ed, but the find was one of the most fortuitous ones of my entire life. I cannot over-emphasize the extraordinary services that Ed (and his extremely competent and kind "right-hand woman," Barb) rendered to me, when I could barely function at all, beleaguered as I was by severe Bipolar I, Panic & Anxiety Disorder, and crippling Crohn's Disease. The tireless work (and over-and-above hours) put in by Ed (and Barb) quite literally saved my life. Ed worked arduously for over five long years, when a lesser lawyer (or person) would have assuredly given up. Not only did Ed function as a stellar advocate for my disability case, but he also became part of a vital support network of professionals. He was, without a doubt, as important to my mental health and well-being as were my psychiatrists, therapists, and gastroenterologists. Ed worked valiantly for me, when many obstacles arose. We soldiered on for five years and through a tremendously difficult appeals process to finally get two well-deserved disability cases approved. (I say "we," but it was really all Ed Ahlers and Barb who did the work; I was rendered useless by my mental health disorders.) When my conditions were at their absolute worst, and I could literally not function well enough to even fill out the disability application, Ed metaphorically "held my hand" over the phone, patiently walking me through the disorienting and stressful steps. Ed demonstrated commitment and compassion the like of which I have never encountered in any dealings with law firms, or even any other business professionals. That is saying a lot, because when I was working from 1990-2018, I worked hard and interacted with many professionals in the retail, medical, educational, public relations and donor relations fields. All of this entailed a lot of work with outside entities: "Big Wheels," one could say. When my first case was, incredibly and unjustly, denied (after my suicide attempt, 6 ECT treatments for catatonic depression, and a month-long hospital stay), Ed swiftly began the long/intense appeals process in November of 2018, writing a 40-page brief. I will stop now, lest I overwhelm a potential client with the sheer volume of my words of praise, but suffice it to say, this Ed Ahlers and Barb are “aces” in my book. I recommend this team without reservation and with great enthusiasm and gratitude.
