Best Lawyer in Columbus

Sam is the BEST Lawyer in Columbus. He handled my case very smoothly and always answered phone calls and responded promptly. He beat my OVI case and beat the prosecutor. I would hire Sam for all criminal cases he's honestly the best at what he does

No help whatsoever

Never returned calls, no fight, rude, and ended up with the worst possible outcome.

Big disappointment

My experience hiring Sam was awful I really don’t understand how he has good reviews. I think he just chooses the cases he wants to fight for. My sister caught a case in 2019. My sister is not from Ohio and me living in another state ( California) made it difficult to find a good lawyer. I heard of ...his name and I figured why not. The first time I met him he seemed like a lawyer that new his stuff. When I hired him that was the end and I hardly heard from him. I called him and numerous times and never got a call back. On various occasions he will tell to me to call him back because he was working out. I had to fly multiple times spending money that I didn’t have to see what was going on. I paid him half and 2 months later his assistant told me that if I didn’t pay the full amount they will remove themselves from the case. My sister was in jail for a whole year and not once did Sam go see her. Not to mentioned the foul language he used with me and the disrespect when I questioned him about his role in representing my sister. On numerous occasion he will tell my sister that she was going to be sentenced to prison. He kept telling ME! That my sister should of known better. Who the F says those things. I lost my patience and I flew from California to Ohio and I literally went of on him. For his lack of work. He kicked me from his office and told me I was not allowed to be there. During my sisters sentencing he was late and went over my sisters paperwork 5 mins before the court. My sister got sentence and as soon as she did SAM just got up and walked away. When I came out he didn’t even look at me nor did he asked me if I needed anything. Specially since I’m not from Ohio I wasn’t sure where she was going. I talked to other people and believe me Sam could of done more. Before I left Ohio I asked him for a final accounting and it’s 2021 and guess what he NEVER sent it nor did he respond to any of my emails. Like I mentioned before Sam only picks the ones he feels he will fight for or the ones that will make him look good on TV. Other than that if I’m his eyes your guilty then good luck with that. So I don’t think he will read this! But if he does… He knows who I am.

Columbus' Top Lawyer - Abby Road

Discovered a warrant for my arrest even though I hadn't been contacted. It was a serious offense that I was under the impression was handled the first time I was in court on a corollary issue. Regardless, after that occurrence, I reached out to Sam for assistance. Sam immediately engaged and worked t...o help me with every step of this very stressful event, especially with multiple continuances due to COVID. Same went above and beyond even though the prosecution failed to offer even a meaningful plea bargain. Sam was professional, handled the court case with upmost tact and respect for both myself and situation, but also to the court and the jury. During the trial itself, he explained in a very clear and concise way that my situation could have happened to any one of the individuals on the jury. At the end of the trial, I was extremely stressed, but due to Sam and his great work, I was found not guilty of all charges that were levied against me. If you have an issue, regardless of your standing in the community, Sam will help you in your situation. Even though it doesn't always appear that you're aware of what's occurring, it's obvious that Sam does and is extremely knowledgeable and will make sure your rights are defended. Five stars doesn't do it.

Not worth the money for quality of defense in misdomeanors.

Charges 2x to 3x what other lawyers charge for OVI case. Flat fee of $4,500 for OVI defense. He had no motivation for due process when he already had been paid. He showed up at first pre-trial with no documentation that I sent to him in my defense and what documentation he requested. He immediate...ly filed for a continuance without consulting me which gave up my right to Due Process and asked for me to send the documentation again. I do not believe he even discussed anything with the prosecutor. Did not return phone calls and never explained how he approaches the defense. Never spent any time with him discussing the case in person outside of pre-trials .. even then he never discussed the rather overt wrongful OVI citation or the evidence that proved my innocence, including a BAC of under .03 and misconduct by law enforcement officer. He kept me in the dark for 4 months. Completely missed a wrongful ALS suspension until pointed out by the judge at the final pretrial so my license was suspended for 4 months due to the lies of a police officer. Has a cavalier and cocky personality and was very disrespectful.
