Kevin W. Shepherd, Attorney At Law
For most people, legal issues are stressful and confusing. They must make the most important decisions of their lives without truly understanding their legal rights, which may have changed recently due to the alteration of local, state and federal laws. I chose a career in law specifically because of a strong desire to provide hands-on care to people who often feel powerless to protect their rights in stressful circumstances.
I am Maryville attorney Kevin W. Shepherd. After beginning my legal career working in the office of the District Attorney and as a Public Defender, I learned that the people in my community needed individualized legal support. I founded my law firm to meet that need.
During my more than 20 years of legal experience, I learned that the community needs legal support for individual and family issues. A large part of my practice focuses on family law and personal injury law, but each client has unique needs and concerns. I establish a close, long-term, first-name relationship with my clients. My clients know they can ask questions at any time, and they trust me to treat their legal issues with honesty and integrity. This is why so many individuals I have worked with send new clients my way through enthusiastic referrals.
As founder of a Maryville personal injury and divorce law firm, I believe in using my skills and knowledge to advocate for the rights of individuals and families. My two other areas of focus are my family and the education of other attorneys and the public about the law. I also served as the elected county commissioner for eight years, and believe in the importance of community involvement.

Had this law firm for 2 years 10 months went to court once, paid the retainer and then every I’ll they sent me since then then the only time I actually saw my lawyer in the almost 3 years was when I hired them then 2 years 9 months later when we finally got to go into the court room, was set off more...

Very disappointed
Greatly disappointed with this attorney. A complete waste of money and time. He didn’t do anything that he said he was going to do. After getting my retainer fee him him and his staff disappeared. Barely returning calls or messages. Never answering my questions.

Here, at Shepherd and Long, we work hard to keep client's informed and we have multiple methods of communication available. Each client is able to have their own client portal with our online service. This allows transmission of messages, uploading and downloading of documents, and complete online access to their file. Likewise, anytime a client wants to talk, all that is needed is to either email or call this office and ask for a phone appointment- or for an office appointment. Zoom sessions are encouraged as well. The review posted by this anonymous person does not reflect the typical client experience, and if this person would reach out to me and identify themselves and their concerns, we would do our best to understand what problems have been experienced and to find a solution.
