        As a Family Law Attorney I have made it my mission to help the people of East Tennessee through some of the most stressful times of their lives. For most people, the legal system can be confusing and even frightening. I became an attorney specifically to provide personalized care to my clients when they need it most.

        As a Knoxville Tennessee native I have a deep sense of commitment to the people of East Tennessee. Before I was an attorney, I was a member of the United States Army as an Airborne Ranger with the 75th Ranger Regiment. While in the Army I deployed to Iraq twice, and Afghanistan twice, in support of the Global War on Terrorism. One thing I learned from my time overseas is that when you are facing a problem it is often best to face it head on. After my time in the military was over I decided return to East Tennessee and fight for the people in my community.

        I received my B.A. in Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and my Juris Doctorate from University of Tennessee College of Law. I am married to my wonderful wife, Stephanie Sardano Tipton, and we have two fantastic young children, Maddox and Carson. We enjoy boating, camping, and hiking in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Like many other East Tennessee families you will find us cheering on the Volunteers on Saturdays.

We were faced with a complicated family matter that no parent ever hopes to face. Sam was quick to respond and provided us a consultation the next day that put our minds at ease. However, weeks later circumstances changed and Sam was quick to help us take action. He was thorough, informative, transparent, there for us every step of the way, and made us feel at ease. His transparency about the possible pathways and cost was refreshing and very much appreciated. Ultimately, we were able to reach an agreement and feel it was a winning outcome. Smooth process for difficult situation

Great Help!
I called and spoke to Mr. Tipton, I am not a client but had a question that he graciously took time out of his day to help me get resolved. He was not looking to make me one of his clients, he was just kind and helpful enough to speak with me and help me out without any charge. Efficiently completed child custody
He was diligent and got me more time and money than expected. It was very important because my ex is a terrible person and doesn't need to be around my kids much. I know he actually cared about my situation and it's outcome. I was able to log in and see when he got certain things done. It was a pretty cool online portal. Needs Met!!
Mr Tipton was a great help in revising my Marital Dissolution Agreement. This was no easy matter as my EX was not very cooperative but he was able to get the job done. I would recommend Sam as he was more than willing to help me and was able to give me good advise on how to handle things. I can be a bit impatient and he keep me in the loop and at bay.
