I grew up in Huntsville and other than my 8 years of higher education have lived here all of my life. I am a third generation graduate of Huntsville High.

I have been very involved in the Huntsville community by volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Huntsville Rotary Club (which is one of the 50 largest clubs in the world, which includes over 36,000 clubs), American Red Cross, Kids' Space Playground, Huntsville Youth Hockey Association and various youth sports.

I helped spearhead a Rotary Project to support a Pediatric Oncology Hospital in Guatemala which ended up providing $75,000 for infusion pumps and equipment for the hospital which treats indigent patients in Guatemala.

I was elected to the Huntsville City School Board in 2002 and 2006 winning every box and 72% of the vote in 2006. I have served as President of the Board for the last 5 years on the Board. My term will expire in October and I am not seeking re-election (8 years is enough!).

I referee ice hockey and was selected to work the 1994 NCAA Division II Men's Championship in Huntsville and have worked a Boston Bruin Training Camp game as well as numerous youth championships across the Southeast and Washington, D.C.

I have 2 sons (8 and 12 years old) who are very active in baseball, football, basketball and soccer. We enjoy going to high school and college athletic events when we are not going to their sports.

Best Experience Ever

For a little background, I hired Mr. Martinson to support some corporate work for my company. Having dealt with a lot of law firms in the past (especially in the Northeast and DC areas), I had a pretty low expectation of how things would go. I couldn't have been more wrong. Mr. Martinson solved issues that other firms thought impossible, and did it in record time. The value we received in exchange for their representation is unlike anything we've ever received from any other law firm in the past. The cost was incredibly reasonable, the responsiveness was immediate, and the results were amazing. Amazing, Very Professional

Knowledgeable and Accessible

Very likable guy, but top notch professional

I had to do what most people don't like to think about, create a Will. Along with Mr. Martinson's excellent personality and professionalism that made me feel comfortable dealing with this, he has a top notch staff that was very acommodating. Highly Satisfied

We moved to Huntsville a couple years ago and needed to transfer a guardianship/conservator for our niece and nephew. Doug Martinson was very helpful and his staff was thorough. I left all the details to them and we were not disappointed. We also used Doug to do our estate planning/will. I would highly recommend their services.

Wills and estate planning

We filed our wills and living wills through Doug and were not aware of extras that he included to protect our family in any conceivable situation. This protected our children from having to go through extra steps upon our death, such as posting bond I believe it was. He was helpful in every possible detail and gave me advice on future handling of our estate such as not giving away our place of residence before our death in case an inlaw would not sell it before we passed, leaving us with no place to live.
