Legal services tend to be expensive for litigated cases where the attorney has to perform discovery and make several appearances at Court. Family law attorneys typically charge between $200 to $450 per hour, because they have a doctoral degree in law. The Initial Retainer Fee usually is between $2,000 to $10,000 to commence work on your case, depending on the attorney's experience and credentials. My retainer fee is very reasonable at the lowest end of $2,000.00.
